TELL US A BIT ABOUT MOO HAIR AND THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE BRAND? Moo Hair is a family run business based in Scotland. It was founded in 2019 by mother and daughter duo Suzie and Olivia. As the business has grown over the last 12 months, the rest of the family (Scott and Alistair) have now become involved! We spent two years developing the brand and have created luxury highend hair and body products that are kind to the skin and the environment and the planet.

WHO ARE YOUR PRODUCTS SUITABLE FOR? Our products are suitable for anyone. The products (apart from hairspray) are more than 95% derived from natural sources so are very gentle. They are suitable for all hair types with different products in our range suitable for different hair needs. Our body products are suitable for anyone and again are very gentle. All of our products are vegan too.

TELL US ABOUT THE INGREDIENTS IN YOUR PRODUCTS? Our Marula Oil is Fairtrade, and sourced from a women’s cooperative in Namibia, which provides economic opportunities to many African women who share the rewards that the oil generates.

The 100% Pure Marula Oil is virgin, wild harvested, hand-selected and cold-pressed with no added chemicals. It is sulphate, paraben, phthalate and synthetic-fragrance free. Filtered on location in Africa, Marula Oil empowers entire communities for whom the Fairtrade harvesting of the Marula nut is a vital economic lifeline.

Fairness and preserving natural resources is what Moo strongly believes in and we’re proud to be using this Fairtrade wonder oil. We have a lovely video on the website that shows exactly where the oil comes from.

The Icelandic moss that we use is responsibly harvested between May to October. The moss is firstly cleansed of any impurities, before being sun-dried or air-dried for later use. Thanks to its location, Icelandic moss is one of the purest algae on the planet. It grows in clean air only,

and will not survive close to cities. It thrives so well in Iceland, as one of the least polluted countries in the world.

Our ingredients are sustainable and sourced from renewable sources. There are no parabens or sulphates in our products. We don’t use any harsh chemicals; SLS, synthetic detergents and all are free from artificial colourings. All products are over 96% biodegradable.

WHAT IS MOO HAIR DOING TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT AND BECOME SUSTAINABLE? Moo is doing several things to protect the environment and become even more sustainable. We don’t use any aerosols for our products, as they are harmful to the environment. All of our products come in a spritz.

Most of our products come in glass bottles or jars, which are fully recyclable. We are also trying to move away from single use plastic. The shampoos come with aluminium lids or plastic pump, and we encourage people to keep and re-use the pump.

There is no plastic in our packaging and all items are posted in fully recyclable cardboard and kraft paper padding. The labels are printed on recycled paper with vegetable ink. We do not test on animals, and we do not sell to any countries that test on animals either. We are involved in the amazing One Tree Planted organisation, and we plant a tree for every order.

WHAT ARE YOUR BEST-SELLING PRODUCTS THAT EVERYONE SHOULD TRY? Our Miracle Shampoo, Miracle Conditioner and Miracle Mask are

our top three selling products. They just leave your hair feeling so shiny and soft.

YOU ALSO PRODUCE A RANGE OF BODY PRODUCTS TOO – TELL US ABOUT THOSE? The Moo Body range launched just a few weeks ago, as there was such a demand for a bigger range of products. They have the same sustainable values as our hair range and are of course, palm oil free, cruelty free and vegan. They also have the same signature scent as the hair range that smells amazing!

DO YOU HAVE ANY EXCITING NEWS YOU CAN SHARE WITH US? We began as a hair care company and found that our customers loved the products, particularly the fact that we used natural ingredients. They also loved the fragrance and started asking if we could do some hand and body products. We launched Moo Body a few months ago, and we plan to expand into natural skincare with moo face next year. We felt that it was no longer suitable to have all these brands under Moo Hair so we’re excited to re-brand as Moo & Yoo. We’re also launching our Christmas gift boxes and gift tubes very soon as well as two new products. The new products are the Miracle Hand Lotion and the Miracle Hand Wash, so watch this space!
