Preface This report is an account of hard work done and experience gained in the company having a reputed stand in the home textile market and policy of keeping itself updated with the changing times. This hardwork is original in style and method & no pains have been spared too make it as compact, perfect and reliable as possible. The report mainly deals in the application of theoretical knowledge into a practical experience. This report attempts to present our experience in by adab. It gave us an opportunity to be a part of an esteemed organization and get the first hand knowledge of working of various departments under various heads. It covers the basic structure of an export house and working. It also includes various formats that are used in firms to maintain the records. Overall, this report covers the individual study of each department that a product undergoes. As such, this report is not sufficient to pen down what we have gained from this graduation project. So, it should not be compared with the experience that is learned by working in an expert house.

Product Development This department is not buyer specific and work for all the buyers thatcompany caters to. The major role of department is to getting business for the company. Foundation of all other departments, it assists in converting their ideas into reality. First interaction of the buyers is with PD department, but in some cases PD is directly done by the merchandising/Designing department, there is showroom for meeting as well as presentation for new development/line adoption to buyer, Samples/mocks developed are just for style and design purpose and measurement do not play a major role. If buyer select any of their style then further development will be done by PD department, once order is been booked further follow up and communicating regarding that style will be the responsibility of the concerned merchandiser.

Designing and Sampling Designing department is involved in making the sample for fetching orders. These samples are marketing promotion samples because these samples may not have any specific request from anyone but would be made from inputs from various sources like: -Information about latest trends, inventions in field of fashion, fabrics, accessories, etc. -Styling according to season, gender, age, group, category, etc -Past experiences from buyerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s selling pattern and market response etc -Can be selected for production with modification. -Mainly to inspire them directing them towards a new trend. They make samples and show these samples in buyerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s meeting then buyer choose some samples according to their needs with modification if required and gives order for development samples,

While in sampling department firstly merchant contact to sourcing department or store, to see required fabric is available in store or not. If available then he gets fabric from there otherwise he sends his runner to arrange fabric from local market like Nehru Place. For this he gives clear information like quality/colours/ reference fabrics/ quality required etc. If modification is requested by sourcing,amendment or clarification is done by merchant. Merchant discuss approximate cost and lead time details with MM/GM. Reconfirmation with buyer is down, if required. Proceed to sample cost sheet. The exact quantum of the collection and the product range may vary according to the area of work i.e. Weave development, Print development, Surface ornamentation or combinations of one or more techniques

Design Analysis Bedrooms are an personal haven where one look for comfort, serenity and luxury. it just takes a seed of creativity to grow into a sprouting talent when it comes to decorating oneâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s own personal space. bedroom is also a place of comfort and fun. Bits and peices of various tactile surface and colors add a lot of interest giving rise to the feelingof fun and froilic which comes along with some mix and match of product and styles.

IRIDESCENT EMBELLISHMENT The use of opulent and iridescent embellishments was a strong theme across all shows. Metallic yarns and foil printing shone through in textured compositions and colours. Finishes of metallic oxidisation, high shine mirror and liquid lacquer were seen across textiles, furniture and accessories.

EXOTIC TROPICS The vibrant tropical theme is seen to be growing season on season and will remain strong across interiors in 2017/2018. Throughout all shows we saw layers of tropical scenes explore oversized palms and jungle foliage reflected through printed, woven or embroidered constructions. Saturated colours and dark grounds were seen to be popular, giving the once fresh tropical paradise a deep exotic look.

Lavish embellishments such as lace inlays and opulent embroidery were coupled with luxurious silk and velvet while also a more discreet and precious look appeared throughout furniture and accessories with the use of real gold detailing. Warm metallic remains prominent across interiors brass was a key material used to bring shine to a space, and copper was also popular.

LESS IS MORE A strong theme throughout the shows is the idea of escaping the stresses of modern day life through creating calmness and serenity in the home. Quality fabrics predominantly featuring natural fibres and soft or raw untreated textures were highly visible. Comforting softness is a key design direction with a focus on tactility and heavily textured softness to create a sense of cocooning. Artisan dying techniques and finishing processes such as shibori, tie dye and stone washing were popular, there was a genuine appreciation for handmade authenticity. The trend focuses on savouring silence and stillness in the home, so sound dampening materials such as felt and wool were strongly visible.

ABSTRACT BLOOMS & LANDSCAPES As seen at trade shows, florals were very present and beautifully painted. In particular, large scale florals were a strong trend seen across digital print, woven and embroidered constructions. We are seeing a return to print in the high end which was particularly visible through complex substrates such as warp printing, and artisanal finishing process such as enzyme washing. Painterly landscapes were a strong theme, often printed in desaturated ombrĂŠ styles.

Gaze will turn to culture and will emerge as a key influencer. Focusing on the more authentic spirit of the less discovered will also bring a wave of joyful, feel-good brights - so bright and so warm and so happy they will rustle up the sound of the steel drums too. This trend will capture the height of summer, and based on its sense of adventure will explore design in new, unchartered ways. it will be the high-summer colour vehicle for 2017. It will offer a ray of sunshine, as the palette sweeps from the sea to the sand to the edge of the jungle. Looking at the urban edges where the city meets the country, colour takes a softer, casual direction. Combining timeworn pretty tones with a tough earthiness, this new bohemia moves through into the phase. White is the definition of neutrality, demonstrates the true charm of understatement, and evokes a sense of calmness and serenity, which is often a welcomed juxtaposition to the chaos and calamity of life. In the new year, designers and like home décor experts will be just as crazy over pastels, except this year pink, blue and pastels signifies psychological wellness, indicative of a spa experience or a detox. The year of organic glamour: Bringing nature into the home was a big trend. From the use of plants and living walls, to horticulture inspired fabrics and wallpapers- natureinspired home decor was welcoming. A graceful and serene story that conveys simplicity and fragility of nature and heirloom pieces. Delicate items are placed together to create a new unity, silently cherished and meditative. The emergence of the 3D printer was a major game changer in the synthetic textile industry. The ability to create something out of nothing was not only revolutionary, but it also created a mesh-point between two worlds that were previously unrelated: the physical and the digital. In 2017, weâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ll see a shift towards textiles emblematic of all things virtual, with high contrast color spectrums, fluorescents and electric shades, and high indicative kaleidoscope patterns garnering popularity. Texture into an interior makes it more inviting and the idea of mixing fabrics and materials will be on the rise. Texture is really important,We are seeing more and more texture in every form, from brushed to light fixtures to fabrics and wallpapers. Ethereal ombrĂŠ effects make way for new color combinations and add fresh appeal to apparel, accessories, and home goods.
