How to Prepare for the Special Forces Becoming a member of the Special Forces is a big thing. It involves a lot of training and being away from home a lot. The training for a member of the Special Forces is rigorous and takes up many hours. SFAS Selection There are more people who fail at some point than pass and there are only a handful of opportunities to prove your worth. Because of this, it is important that you are ready for your training and the selection process.

You will know that as a member of the military you need to be physically fit. When it comes to Special Forces recruitment, you need to be fitter than just any Army recruit. You will need to exercise on a daily basis and build up your endurance. Strength and cardiovascular training are both expected at a high level and you will be pushed to breaking point. The more prepared you are beforehand, the more chance you have of becoming a member of the Special Forces. Special Forces Assessment and Selection

It is not just about brute force when it comes to the Special Forces; you will need to have brains too. There are tests to get into the selection process and you will need to score highly in them to move onto the next stage. It is important to study hard and know everything that you need to. If you score low, you will be moved into another area of work for the US Military.

If you have a fear of heights, it is time to get over it now. As part of the Special Forces, you will need to be Airborne certified. This means that you need to have jumped out of an aircraft a number of times. Parachuting is a daunting experience for many but is fun at the same time. Get over your fear of heights, even if it just for the time that you are parachuting to the ground. Remember that you will have all the training you need to be certified for Airborne so there are very few risks.

There will be constant tests along the way of the Special Forces selection process, which will mean that you need to know your stuff. You will need to know all about the rifle that you carry and the different types of firearms used. You will also need to know about first aid. You will have been given a handbook to read over so make sure that you do.

It is easy to let the selection process and training to get into the Special Forces team get you down. The staff will try to break you mentally and physically. This is something that you need to be prepared for. You need to be tough mentally if you want to succeed - after all, who knows what could happen while on deployment.
