GrassRoot Webinar

“Overall my experience at this webinar was very much eye opening. It opened me up to knowing that I'm able to make a change within my community! As well as advocate for whatever I'm passionate about! It was very interesting to hear from other girls who were my age who already made a change within their community! It was enjoyable learning about how to talk to lawmakers and things to do if it doesn't exactly work out. I mostly learned that sharing your OWN story is what matters the most, as long as you can do that, then anything is possible! A very inspirational and motivating webinar to attend especially for someone like me who was unsure on how to make a change within my community.” ~ Sophie Khou

“This webinar was very informative, and it really expanded my knowledge on how I am able to make changes for the topics I am passionate for. There were multiple presenters from all over the country who gave their insights and shared their experiences about the topics they are experienced in, like advocating for equality, racial injustice, and even just informing listeners about who to contact at a national or local level. We were able to participate in events like choosing which topic we believe are the most important, very important, and least important (but still a priority.) We also participated in a poll to determine which topic we believe was the most important, with equality being the most popular. Overall, I think this webinar was very helpful to the younger girls and boys who want to be able to participate in a society bigger than themselves, and was eye-opening on all the changes we can possibly make. “ ~ Lia Leong

“The webinar talked about the culture of supporting one another through encouraging animal adoption and fundraising. In this webinar, they discussed what was most important to us and how these issues can be solved through using our voices to empower others to join in this change. Topics such as environmentalism and social justice for women were brought up. Women are heavily involved in the environment as it is endlessly changing their communities, thus they are affected in these disasters as food and water sources are scarce. I was able to learn a lot about women impacting the world.” ~ Connie Trinh

“The zoom webinar covered the history of women's suffrage and the continued battles that women face today with suffrage and representation. I thought that the overall experience helped me better understand the challenges that women face today in the political arena and the professional environment. There is an unfair standard on women when running for public office such as their physical appearance, family duties, and career. The presenters did a good job telling their own story with advocating for women empowerment in suffrage and representation in public office.” ~ George Luo
