Hey Southwest! Governor’s Update - Mid Year WE B COOL WE B BEST! What's up Southwest? We've officially made it through the first semester, and I couldn't be more proud. We started with recruitment, built our membership and are on track to surpass our membership from last year. We've conquered officer training conferences! Meeting people from all over our divisions and learning what it truly means to be a servant leader. And now we have to District convention it T-4 months! That's right! April 13-15, over 500 key clubbers will gather to learn all about service across Arizona, New Mexico, and El Paso. 2017 has been great, lets make 2018 even better! What is Lupus? Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease, meaning that when an individual suffers from Lupus their immune system begins to break down healthy cells. Lupus affects joints and organs in the body. Lupus is characterized by fatigue, anemia, joint pain, and swelling (among other things). The Lupus Foundation aims to find a cure for the disease!
Statistics • 5 million people worldwide are affected by Lupus • 1 out of every 537 young African American women is impacted • 1.5 million Americans suffer with symptoms
Lupus Foundation Walk! Join us March 10th for the Lupus foundation walk at Marcos de Niza High School! Contact your Lieutenant Governor about running a booth! How You Can Help • Organize a community walk and collect donations! • Host a bake sale, and hand out flyers containing info about Lupus to raise awareness! • Plan a Color Run where you sell admissions tickets and t-shirts to everyone!

The March of Dimes will be hosting a kickoff webinar for the March for Babies campaign on Monday, January 29 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time/8:00 p.m. Central Time.
