EVA : A Digital Safety Net for Drivers
Safety is a universal need. There are about 9,000 Fire & Ambulance apparatus accidents per year; half resulting in fatalities. EVA (Emergency Vehicle Alert) is an app functional for Android and Apple devices that alert drivers when an emergency apparatus is approaching their region. It was designed by the Atlanta based technology company, DataView. EVA creates a digital safety net keeping drivers and emergency vehicles aware of any traffic disruptions within a particular geo fence at any given time. EVA addresses a nullity in Emergency Vehicle Response for both involved parties - the commuter and the responder. Emergency Vehicles have an obligation to respond and commuting drivers are only given a moment’s notice before an approach commences. Reacting in not enough time to oncoming emergency vehicles lead to traffic delays, accidents, and in some cases, fatalities.
NCSA reported 6,800 traffic fatalities in 2014’s 1st quarter. EVA pledges to safety and efficiency of bringing better data for the sake of having safer roads. The GPS feature uses an open shortest path algorithm alerting drivers of the shortest and safest commute available for that given time. EVA advances any premonition, giving commuters accurate information about their personal commute. There is enough time to ward off potential hazards during the commence.
EVA makes for a safe, nimble and prompt commute for emergency vehicles to advance situations that require expeditious acknowledgement. As traffic fatalities increase in the United States, EVA is armed with the technology necessary to address and deteriorate those statistics while creating a safer place to drive for everyone.
