IDEA overview Ocean Spray

eCommerce Merchandise Program project scope: In 2008 Ocean Spray selected SwervePoint as their merchandise vendor of record after a comprehensive selection process. Ocean Spray challenged SwervePoint with developing an end-to-end ecommerce site that would bring Growers, Distributors, and Ocean Spray marketers together through a comprehensive collection of merchandise designed to communicate the “freshness” of Ocean Spray products. swervepoint capabilities: Program services, client services, e-business, design, merchandising & sourcing, fulfillment & distribution. program overview: Over a 12-week period, SwervePoint together with Ocean Spray worked to implement the Ocean Spray Company Store — an on-line destination for employees, business partners, growers, and marketers. Each week our Program Manager would meet with SwervePoint team members and team members from Ocean Spray to review progress made in areas such as: existing inventory transition, new product design, sampling, user-interface design, brand training, program launch communications, inventory valuation, budget management and reporting.

eCommerce Merchandise Program, continued During the process of Identifying, Developing, Executing and Assessing the overall implementation, we established a dedicated client services team for Ocean Spray consisting of a: Senior Account Executive, Account Executive, Merchandiser and Traffic Coordinator. This team would eventually become responsible for all project work, custom order management, and on-site event support. At the same time our program services department established their dedicated team consisting of a: Senior Customer Service Lead, Customer Service Representative, and Inventory Analyst. This team would eventually become responsible for all orders related to the on-line Company Store and inventory replenishment. Over the 12-week period, our departments worked on parallel paths to achieve their objectives on time while our Program Manager was responsible for updating the project timeline and providing clear communication to Ocean Spray. The timeline was dynamic and not necessarily linear which presented challenges but “this isn’t our first rodeo” as they say. During implementation important operating procedures were documented, brand decoration guidelines established, samples created and approved or revised, technology tested, sku locations created, service levels agreed upon, etc. It’s a comprehensive process and our years of experience made things as smooth as possible for everyone involved. As we got closer to program launch marcom materials were designed and approved by the client in support of a full-scale communications plan involving e-mail, print, and on-site support.

eCommerce Merchandise Program, continued continuing service: On an ongoing basis SwervePoint supports the marketing communications needs of the Ocean Spray Company Store through a number of different tactics including promotional e-mail announcements of specials on close-out inventory, on-site mobile boutiques and on-site merchandise sales, attendance at corporate events to sell and display merchandise, as well as sales of seasonal electronic gift certificates. We’re proud to say that Ocean Spray is still a SwervePoint customer today. We are honored to work with the smart, creative people at Ocean Spray and are humbled by the trust they put in us to protect and promote their brands and corporate reputation.
