San Diego Swim Week (SDSW) is a luxury swimsuit & resort wear fashion show happening in San Diego, California. We are a platform for designers and models to exhibit their talent, creating a network of entrepreneurs and creatives that strengthen the fashion community through runway shows, networking events and behind-the-scenes opportunities.
Our talented team has years of experience producing and assisting in international events within the industry, earning accolades for their work and garnering an elite lineup of runway models. OOur May Fashion Preview at Hard Rock San Diego was an unforgettable event, with DJ Alexy Shen providing the perfect soundtrack for the day. The runway featured Marji Wear, a brand by Marjory Toledo that blends Brazilian craftsmanship with sustainable fashion, empowering local artisans through fair trade practices. Alongside, Inside Out the Box showcased bold, colorful resort wear for men and women, created by the artistic duo Angel and Jay. Our models radiated confidence, thanks to the stunning glow provided by Bronze du Soleil, offering a preview of our upcoming July show.

What inspired you to pursue a career in modeling, particularly in the swimwear industry?
Growing up, my love for fashion, photography, and spending countless days at the beach naturally drew me towards a career in swimwear modeling. It’s a perfect blend of my passions and allows me to showcase the beauty and confidence that swimwear embodies.
What swimwear trends are you most excited about this season?
I’m really excited about the trend of textured swimwear this season. From ribbed fabrics to crochet details, these textures add a unique touch to swimsuits and elevate beachside style.
Can you offer any tips for individuals looking to find the perfect swimsuit that fits both their style and body type?
Focus on finding a swimsuit that flatters your body type and reflects your personal style for the perfect fit, but most importantly something you feel confident in!

Tell us about your designs. What can we expect in your upcoming collection?
In our upcoming collection, you can expect to see a fusion of classic and contemporary styles with a focus on vibrant colors and intricate textures. We’re incorporating more sustainable fabrics and innovative design elements to push the boundaries of eco-friendly fashion.
What does success mean to you?
For me, success means making a positive impact on both our customers and the environment. It’s about building a brand that stands for something meaningful and contributes to a better world. Personally, I consider myself successful because, as an immigrant starting from scratch without knowing any English, I’ve managed to create a space where I can share my passion, showcase my family’s talent, and support them. Moreover, I’m now able to help other artisans achieve a better life. In summary, success means love and help—helping others grow and thrive.
What challenges have you faced in the industry, and how have you overcome them?
The industry has its challenges, such as maintaining sustainable practices while managing costs and navigating a highly competitive market. Overcoming these challenges requires resilience, creativity, and a strong support network.
What was the best piece of business advice you were given when you were starting out?
The best piece of business advice I received was to stay true to my values and vision, no matter what. This has been a guiding principle in all my decisions and has helped me build a brand that I’m proud of.
Has learning from a mistake ever led you to success?
Yes, learning from mistakes has been crucial to my growth. Each setback has provided valuable lessons that have led to better strategies and greater success.
Nolan Dean is a renowned self-taught designer with a background in fine arts, photography, construction, culinary arts, and science. His inspiration comes from various sources, including his travels, the changing seasons, and unique fabrics he collects. Originally from Vietnam, Nolan experienced a cultural shock upon moving, noting the mass production and uniformity in his new environment. His creative process is distinctive: starting with fabrics, he drapes and shapes them into his vision, showcasing his innovative approach to design.

Barbara Lagazzele, originally from Paris, began her fashion journey at 9. Moving to the U.S. in 1997 as an MTV-selected model, she spent 26 years mastering costume makeup, hair design, and styling. Barbara is known for her unique ability to connect with clients, creating exciting, personalized experiences. Her collections blend creativity, elegance, and individuality, making her a standout in the fashion industry.
