John Kim Mimi Asita
I believe God is calling me and my wife to full-time missions. We do not know where God will send us, but we have a heart for refugee ministry. We want to continue evangelizing and discipling people cross-culturally.
My favorite thing about Southwestern is the community. It is that warm feeling of acceptance wherever I am on campus; there is always someone smiling and willing to help.

Cost Breakdown for SBC Students
SBC Cooperative Program and Other Financial Aid
Southwestern Seminary students who are active members of a Southern Baptist church receive the SBC Cooperative Program discount. This discount is in the form of a reduced tuition rate and no scholarship application is required. The reduced rate is based on church membership information submitted during the admissions process. After enrollment, the Registrar’s Office updates and maintains church membership information.
Thanks to generous donors and supporters of Southwestern Seminary, the Office of Financial Aid offers several institutional scholarships for graduate-level students, including the Southwestern Scholarship, the Southwestern High Achiever’s Scholarship, the Seminary Dean M.DIV. Scholarship, and the Southwestern Preaching Scholarship.
The seminary also offers a number of scholarships for Southern Baptist missionaries, including a 100 percent scholarship for current International Mission Board (IMB) missionaries enrolled in degree programs at the master’s and doctoral levels. Additionally, students who are in process with the IMB are eligible to receive a 100 percent scholarship for tuition and fees for up to 36 hours of study at the graduate level. Children of SBC missionaries are also eligible for scholarships.

DISCOVER FORT WORTH
For more than a century, Southwestern Seminary has been proud to call Fort Worth “home.” Established in 1849 as an Army outpost, Fort Worth has been historically known as “the cradle of the West.” Fort Worth earned its nickname, “Cowtown,” because it is the center of trade for Texas Longhorns in the city’s historic stockyards. The city reflects its Western roots while enjoying a modern feel.
The Stockyards National Historic District anchors the city to its Texas roots, while in 2020, U.S. News & World Report ranked the city as one of the 25 best places for young professionals. Fort Worth’s Cultural District is home to five-world class museums, including the Kimbell Art Museum, and nearby Sundance Square Plaza features restaurants that offer traditional Texas barbecue and international cuisines and four theaters with live entertainment.
Fort Worth is the 12th largest city in the nation with a population of 950,000 people and the second fastest-growing city in Texas.
Texas is home to 400 people groups who speak more than 300 languages.
The world’s second busiest airport calls DFW home.
The DFW Metroplex has more than 1,000 churches.
