SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7 BURKE RANCH, GENOA, NEBRASKA
Welcome, Friends!
Let me say on behalf of everyone involved in The Cowboy Kind, Thank You for taking the time to look, stop by, or be with us on sale day! In keeping with that theme, Cody and I along with our families would like to thank everyone involved in making The Cowboy Kind a success. We cannot say thank you enough to everyone who helps with sale prep, from clipping, to fencing and feeding cattle and people. We are humbled by the amount of support we have, and rest assured we will do our very best to hold our end up. We will continue to support you. No matter if it’s helping market your livestock, helping with clipping, showing or feeding, or just simply showing up when needed for support in any way, we will have your back.
Speaking of having your back, we need to say a special thank you to longtime consignor Ben Walbrecht. He oversees the bred females from after preg checking to right before the sale. He does an outstanding job, and we are lucky to call him a friend and partner! We are also especially grateful for our good friend and even better relative Derek Vogt! Even with the responsibilities of a new job, he has hung in with us still taking pictures, helping with the catalog and all things that take place out here.
It’s a great time to be in the cattle business, and we are excited to show you the offering. There is no doubt we are deeper in quality by some margin. The sale partners here have all stepped it up. We are proud of the depth and strength running throughout the pedigrees in these cattle. We think you will agree it shows up in the cattle. These cattle are bred for longevity and made to function in the real world while having the eye appeal to win in the show ring.
Meanwhile on the home front, our family had some great news last January when Levi and Morgan welcomed Stetson Zwirn into the world! To say I’m a proud grandpa would be an obvious understatement! We also want to welcome our new consignors: Neil Bouray, Greg and Jason Sisco, Gary Sumpter, Adyson Groteluschen and her family, Josh Taylor, Levi Wilson and the Dorcey family. We invite everyone to come to the sale to enjoy a great meal and hopefully stick around after for some drinks, fellowship and to get to know us, and how we can help you in the future.
Respectfully,
Tim Burke and Family

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All animals will sell to the highest bidder. Any disputes or challenges regarding bidding will be settled by the auctioneer, and his decision will be final. Announcements made sale day from the auction block will take precedence over printed statements. Terms of the sale are cash or good check, payable immediately upon the conclusion of the sale and before the animals will be moved. Seller will reserve the right to require a certified check as settlement before releasing any cattle. Any and all credit or refunds on cattle purchases must be approved with individual owners prior to the sale and are only to be used on cattle owned by that specific individual consignor. Credit not previously approved will result in a no-sale on that animal(s).
The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between buyer and seller and shall be equally binding on both. Animals that are resold following purchase in the sale shall constitute a separate transaction, and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by these terms and conditions. All sales are final.
GUARANTEE
Bred females have been satisfactorily examined for pregnancy. They are guaranteed bred at sale time and are assumed to breeders without further guarantee. Due dates listed for bred females are the result of said examination and/or known breeding dates and are intended to be used as estimates of actual calving dates. No guarantee, expressed or implied, is made to a female’s ability to produce transferable embryos with the exception of those selling as “open and ready to flush.”
FLUSH RIGHTS
The seller reserves the rights to two (2) successful flushes of no less than six (6) eggs per flush on all females selling. Flushing will be done at the seller’s expense and the buyer’s convenience.
TRUCKING
Don’t let trucking get in the way of your purchases. We have trucks coming in and out all the time and travel a lot ourselves. We are very conscientious of keeping costs reasonable. We work with only the very best in taking care of your animals while in route. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser, who should furnish shipping instructions at the time of settlement. It is recommended that insurance be obtained. Insurance will be available for purchase at the clerk’s desk sale day.

This heifer would be a candidate for LOT 1, regardless of her breed. When Ben and I were going through these the first time, they were all together. This heifer surfaced, and I looked her up four times. She exemplifies what The Cowboy Kind stands for. Complete. Balanced. Multi-purposed. I really like the fact she came originally from our old sale partners in Iowa, the Swansons. Ben put together a really high quality group from Chris’ son-in-law, Tyler Peterson, Tom Hansen and Chris Swanson. They are true sale features from true friends. 1

Great opportunity to put some intriguing genetics together.

He wasn’t wrong when he said we needed this one last year at his heifer sale. This is the kind of true Cowboy Kind success story that makes us proud.
Special note: This is our camera man’s heifer, but just about anyone could take a good picture of this one! That said…we are very thankful to have Derek and his family as a part of ours!

Artie Moeller and Cody Harms were already big farmers when they jumped full-time into the egg business. I don’t think they know which came first, but I’ve been told they watch them around the clock trying to answer the question. With all that’s going on, H&M Cattle has made the decision to complete their cow herd liquidation. We’ve been honored that they put their trust in us the last few years to market their cattle. This cow has been flushed successfully and still breeds like clockwork. Pictured is the Good to Go steer that was one of our high sellers this fall.

When Josh Behmer told us the Sisco Brothers had a “good” heifer to send us, he was being modest. The Siscos sent us a great heifer to kick off the 3/4 Simmental division. With striking eye appeal and soundness, this is the kind of female Perseverance is quickly becoming famous for. Her picture says it all! She sells bred to Remedy, so her calf will be a purebred, and, more importantly, a damn good one you will cash a good check for right out of the gate!
Every year we buy some heifers from our friends and customers around the country and say to ourselves, “We need her for our herd.” Then, with our commitment to offering all our best, we sell them anyway! This great female from the Ohlrichs sure checks all those boxes. Her dam is a full sib to Effling’s famous and now-deceased J6RA Bada Bing donor that dominated the show ring and left a big trail of successful progeny in her relatively short life span. Loads of potential in this female that sells bred to Zeus. Male or female, call us first on her calf!

More than a little thought went into offering this cow for sale. Jason and I purchased her at the G– as a bred heifer and have been more than happy with her. She has paid for herself already, and she wasn’t cheap! I don’t believe you can have a successful sale if it doesn’t hurt a little. This one hurts a lot. Point blank, we don’t have enough recips, and she deserves more than we can give her this coming year. There’s no bad secret hiding behind her. She is that good, and we would like to stay involved with the future owner on embryos if it’s possible.

She checks all the boxes of soundness, body shape, look, power, bone, foot size, hair… you name it, and the pedigree to back it up.
All Me is tearing it up in the Maine breed, and this heifer is royally bred on the back side with the legendary Broker on the famed Melody cow, the $1,000,000-plus producing dam of WAGR Driver. This heifer will hang banners and then cash big checks in the donor pen. Power in the blood!

You have to appreciate this one’s balance, structural correctness, look from the side, and how good she ties her spine, hip and tail head. This one is flat good. Bid til you own her!

Her mother was successfully campaigned by Allison, and we were huge fans when she was showing. The quality has carried through to Miss Merlot with her wide skeleton, powerful build, big center body and her stellar look from the side. Combine the cow power of a Sullivan Who Dat daughter, the great Profit and the popular Bet on Red…what more could you want?

Relentless has left his mark on the Simmental breed and stamped a pile of backdrop champions and high sellers. The quality of both bulls comes out in this heifer’s eye-catching neck and front end, rib shape and center body, and her balance from the side. She gives a great look from every angle with her wide base, correct skeleton, and adequate muscle shape. This one will be fun to show and even more fun to mate.

No stranger to The Cowboy Kind, Wolfe Cattle Company brought us a knockout baldy! New California is backed by GCC’s “Boots” cow, and the quality runs deep here back on this heifer’s On the Mark dam. Her long neck and eye-catching baldy face are just the start of the quality here. She has some extra width and dimension, is long bodied, and goes to the ground wide and true on her feet and legs. Showing her will be fun, and breeding her will be even more fun.

The power this heifer brings is truly impressive in her overall build and through her center body and rib shape, and through her rear third. She ties her neck and shoulder into an impressive skeleton and gives a killer look from the side.

Our Melania donor is no stranger to raising good ones, and she’s not stopping anytime soon. Her progeny have been selected by some of the best in the business the last few years and are sure to make a splash in the show ring in the near future. Study this one’s skeletal build, and you’ll see she is built for the long haul. Big bodied, a long neck that ties high out of her shoulder, picturesque silhouette, big footed and sound legged… the ceiling is extremely high on this one.
Speaking of high ceilings…whether you started at the front or the back of this catalog, this one should get your attention. Neil believed in GCC Mastermind, and that was a good decision. He’s backed by GCC’s “Boots” donor, and the quality runs deep in this pedigree and in the heifer. Study this one front to back, top to bottom, and wow— she is impressive! She is so expressive in her body shape and width of skeleton, and she is robust yet smooth made in her muscle pattern. She is correct in her joints and easy moving, elevated and long necked, and very elegant in her front one-third. A true total package. Bid with confidence! 138
