P R O T O -T E X T COMBINING ARCHITECTURE FORMS THROUGH TEXT

In this project, an abstract metaphor is used to explore the different modes of representation in architectural design process. This metaphor is then analyzed in term of the study models to see the possibilities in generating forms. The vortex formation was chosen and observed as the metaphor for this project. It is aimed to focus on developing and enhancing the understanding of the metaphor characteristics. The process are then applied to the study models.

TRANSLATING THE METAPHOR BY UNDERSTANDING THE MOVEMENT OF VORTEX

the movement of vortex is the key to derived the sketches below. Each of the sketches showed how the movement of vortex in relating to forms

the sketches development started from plan view and then focused on the elevation.

PERMUTATION TECHNIQUE IN GENERATING FORM MAKING The theme of ‘Isolation Escapism’ was assign to me as a means to design an envelope consisting individuals programs within the imaginary spaces. This projects, will extend investigations with respect to ideas, creativities and dialogue in term of architectural vocabulary. The ‘NAZI SWASTIKA’ symbol was chosen as the subject of metaphor for generating this technique. The permutation is then being combine to the variables techniques like intertwining, crumpling and weave.

I N T E R L AT T I C E THE NEW HOUSING TYPOLOGIES

The establishment of human settlement through the ages has brought about rapid changes to the community and profoundly altered the social relationship that distinguishes mankind. The breakdown of culture or of the conflict opposing differences between generations in the urban areas causes the absence of meaningful personal relationships. A society must strike a balance between self interest of the individuals and the needs of the community. For this project, an integrated houses was proposed with intentions to strenghthening the interaction between local community. IBS construction system was used as part of the project requirement. The site located at Jelatek, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It consists of small urban community settlement. Based on the observation done, most of the people around Jelatek still using the ‘kampung’ living style. Following the observation, the concept of ‘interlattice’ was used as strategy to achieved the intention. This concept aimed to distribute a network interaction between regular system of vertical circulation and to give essence in symbolizing and strenghthen the bonding between the community.

[RE] - EN 21ST CENTURY TOY MUSEUM

NGAGED This project focus on the medium scale buiilding. THE MUSEUM IS DESIGNED FOR THE HASBRO COMPANY. Hasbro is a branded play company providing children and families around the world with a wide-range of immersive entertainment. The concept of [re]-engage were used due to the company strategic blueprint for developing toys. This concept focus more on the engagement of the programs itself with the user in relation with the site context. The main purpose for the concepts was to reflect the company profiles.

THE DESIGN INTENT IS TO CREATE THE CORPORATE GALLERY FOR THE HASBRO COMPANY. THE MUSEUM PROGRAMS ARE BEING DECONSTRUCTED ONE BY ONE TO SHOW ITS OWN IDENTITY AS MEANS TO REFLECT THE COMPANY IMAGE BY PROVIDING OPTIONS FOR INDOOR AND OUTDOOR MOVEMENT. THE DESIGN ELEMENTS FOR THIS MUSEUM WILL GUIDE ANY VISITORS TO THE BUILDING THROUGH THE DIFFERENT BUILDING FORM AND OPEN SPACES PATHWAY. THE HIERACRHY OF THE DESIGN SHOWS THE IMPORTANT SPATIAL ORGANIZATION OF THE PROGRAMS.

This discourse project mainly focused on the aspect of the rig and placement in Revit 2014 software. The aim of this discourse is to derived enumeration using a certain command of revit function. The concept used in this project is the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) molecule. I want to state here that the intention of this discourse project is not to study the meaning and function of DNA but rather focus on the behavior of the DNA in term of skin and envelope in relation to parametric subject. Moreover, I divided the process into 3 premises that later I developed in conjuction with its attributes. These premises are then being analyzed in evolving forms that encircling the DNA, understanding and tuning its behavior into parametric and finally I developed its repertoire, styles, and discourses that formed around it.

METAPHOR

This experimental project aim to study the smoke pattern as a metaphor. In order to analyze the pattern, the observation method through images and sketches were conducted as variables to determine the potential of pattern for architecture. This implicit analysis were furthermore developed by integrating the concept of recursion and increment through the usage of Revit software. In addition, the author used his interpretation in the form of grounded theory in terms of deriving the pattern.

This project aimed to construct the weaving pattern by analyzing the knowledge of weaving through the observation study and conduct it into an explicit materialization in grasshopper. The explicit materializtion is divided into surface, form, and structure. these materialization is then further analyzed through the visualization using communication graphic displays controls. Moreover, the logic process of grasshopper definition is shown in here.
