Upcycle House | Proposed Methodology for Plastic Upcycling Within Commercial Context | Final Year, Semester 8
The Upcycle House is designed to advocate the idea of upcycling in Bukit Bintang. The project highlights the issues of plastic usage in Malaysia and the excessive production of fabric that causes pollution. The Upcycle House aims to become a centre of plastic wastes which are then transformed into fashion items and arts. The programmes are designed to encourage engagement of the community in Bukit Bintang, which are also potential clients of the brand Issey Miyake.

Residensi 8 | Proposed Co-Living Residency for Retirees at Bukit Jelutong | Final Year, Semester 7
15.3% of the population are aged 60+ by 2030 (UN)
less social connection living with working children
most elderly homes barely suitable for indigenous lifestyle
no income generation during retirement
The demographic of Bukit Jelutong is centred around aged groups and retirees. Residensi 8 is designed to independently sustain the source of healthy food for its inhabitants. The symbol ‘8’ depicts the infinite way of life. The designed programme involves harnessing of ‘sunnah’ foods through hydroponic farming within the comfort of the users’ own home. The harvest can then be consumed or can be sold at the farmer’s market allocated within the premise.

Sen+rum Competition, Balouo Salo Organization | Proposed Methodology for Emergency Operations Centre in Sub-Saharan Africa
Wooden pallets are used to form the emergency centre in aim to provide immediate relief after disaster. Pallets are easily found around the world as its usage is universal, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa. Such a system makes it flexible for users to manipulate the spaces that they need for specific conditions. In emergency cases, provision of aids are of utmost importance. Sufficient and organised storage space could help in the efficiency of the emergency centre, hence the formation of the wooden pallets are designed as such that it could provide as storage spaces.
