Interior design is my passion. When thinking of design, opportunity comes to mind. In our ever changing society, we are progressive and always on the move. I get so excited about creating spaces for people to grow as a family, as a business, and as a community. That impact alone will leave me excited and humble to know that my design can make people feel and become better than how I found them.

DEVELOPMENT

CONCEPT

GOALS 8

• Reno, Nevada • Hospitality design • Four interior designers

• 32,550 square foot building • Revit, Illustrator, Photoshop, AutoCAD

Driven by the Newspaper from Reno, Nevada, in the 1920’s, The Gazette is a boutique hotel full of history and luxury. The newspaper was the prime source that told the many paramount stories that took place during that time. Through the design you will get a sense of events that occurred in “the biggest little city in the world”. With the essence of stories, guests will be taken through multiple events that shaped Reno, and the world into what it is today. • Luxury • Comfort • Mystery

10 LEVEL ONE RENDERED FLOOR PLAN

• Concept for the lobby was to create a grand entrance that incorporates bold, green elements which were popular during the 1920s. • Wayfinding in the flooring allows easy access from entrance to front desk. • Grand entrance incorporating vertical lines and bold forms.

12

The inspiration for the HotsyTotsy is the beauty and style of the flapper women of the 20’s. They were always adorned with jewels, bold in their actions, and ooh’d and ahh’d by everyone. Drawing from the ornate elements in the flapper dress, the furniture and finish selections within the spa will incorporate fringe, detail beading, tassels, and geometric lines.

• Mother of The Pearl wallcovering was used to bring in the attire that the women would wear in the 20’s. • Fringe accents and muted colors were used to bring in what a flapper girl was like in that time.

The Tin Lizzie is derived from the idea of the Ford Model ‘T’ that came out in the 1920s. Being that Reno holds the National Automobile Museum, the idea was to capture and create a space that would pull design elements from the vehicle.

• Rounded elements represent the fender of the Ford Model T. • The vertical lines represent the spindles on the wheels of the tires. • A pit was created in the middle of the restaurant to represent stepping into the vehicle with rich, red velvets.

14

GUESTROOM LEVEL RENDERED FLOOR PLAN

16

Guestrooms at Hotel Gazette are dedicated to ensuring each guest can have a stress free and exciting stay. These rooms will pay tribute to a finer time, the 1920’s. Art deco motifs will be continued into these spaces, as well as deep, rich colors.

• Each guestroom is equipped with high end furniture and finishes. • The headboards are made of gold elements and alligator skin. • The rooms have a privacy panel that separates the spaces, while adding visual interest. • Each room also equipped with a custom wallcovering.

LEVEL TEN RENDERED FLOOR PLAN ROOFTOP

18

• Main floor of the rooftop encourages a dip by the pool while having availability to bar. It also encourages social interaction while having multiple seating options for private or big parties. • The second floor of rooftop is more exclusive and for gambling and party scene only. It is strictly enforced that everyone who enters the second floor be dressed in 1920’s attire.

LEVEL ELEVEN RENDERED FLOOR PLAN ROOFTOP MEZZANINE

20

The rooftop, which offers a bar, grill, and pool is a party all in one. You can kick back and RELAX by the pool while having a drink, or go into the grill and enjoy a light lunch with friends. Sit back at the massive bar and have a drink, soaking up the experience. The rooftop will be found behind a painting without a frame and a door that is not a door.

• This space incorporates an Instagrammable moment while having a interesting water feature. • Green and gold are still incorporated throughout this space to bring what is on the lobby level up to the rooftop. • Multiple seating options.

22

Inspired by the Mafia who ran Reno in the 1920’s, this exclusive rooftop bar and casino is THE life of the party. This bar will be an ENERGETIC place to enjoy a drink with friends and take a chance on winning big on the poker tables. Come on up and let the party begin.

• Jazz music was important during the 20’s. Motifs of a trumpet were used to reflect this genre of music. • The center seating is an adult carousel and it spins slowly while people sit and enjoy an exciting environment. • The corners of the rooms are gambling areas.

GOALS 78

• 100% reclaimed chair • Welding • Two interior designers

• Auto CAD, Illustrator

The Belt Bench was inspired by The Great Belt Bridge that connects between the Danish islands of Zealand and Funen. Pulled from the architecture of the bridge, the chair captures the clean lines and the draping of the cables that connect the tall concrete structures. The layout of the fabric resembles the pattern of the structural cables to indicate the importance of the support of the bridge as well as the sloping of the seat, being the main support for the body. • Functional • Industrial • Modern

Eight million tons of trash are dumped into today’s oceans, with plastic being the number one material that adds to that collection. With getting in contact with the Hawaii Wildlife Fund, they were able to collect a few items to help with this project. When thinking of an animal that gets affected most by pollution, a jellyfish came to my mind. Every jellyfish is completely different from one another. They have an organic eccentricity about them. This lamp is 90% made of materials hand-picked off the coast of Hawaii. The shade of the lamp is completely sculpted of beach trash as well as the tentacles. • Neutral • Illuminating • Organic
