Pro’s and Con’s of Ethanol Fireplaces
Pro’s 1. No chimney, lot’s of freedom An ethanol fireplace provides so much liberty. It does not need any chimney installation and thus its portable also. Since, its mobile, you can take it anywhere if you make a move. You can also take it out on the patio or the place wherever you would like to sit and cook.
Pro’s 2. No dangerous fumes It does not emit any dangerous fumes like burning wood. The fuel is so clean that it does not need a chimney, because the fuel produced in the end is very little amount of water and carbon-dioxide.
Pro’s 3. From ashes to‌ Nothing! Since the flame is so clean, it offers many other benefits. It does not give any ashes as the remaining liquid vaporise. It hardly gives any soots on the walls or ceilings, and if does, it is in a very little amount, can say negligible.
Pro’s 4. Easy to use The use of fireplace is very simple. While you have to struggle in burning the wooden fireplace, its just easier. It simply requires taking an ethanol bottle, pour it into the burner, and light it with a long lighter. The flames will emerge within minutes or even in seconds.
Con’s 1. It’s just not a source of primary heat The primary drawback of using it is that it does not emerge enough amount of heat. To put it simply, the heat produced is not much to warm a room as a stove does. It’s just 2-3,5 kW, which is comparatively low.
Con’s 2. They consume oxygen Just like any other burner, ethanol also ask for fresh air. It needs oxygen to burn appropriately. So, make sure that the room you are using it into, has proper flow of oxygen. And, if its not so, it may not be able to burn for an hour or more than that.
Con’s 3. It’s still a fireplace Make sure you treat it like a fireplace only. Many people make the mistake of using it carelessly, which is a biggest hindrance in the safety. However, it can be the reason of accidents, so use it with care because its still a fireplace.
