s I sit here watching the polls waiting on our new president to be announced I don’t know how to feel. Donald Trump is leading in polls and all of my friends are convinced that the world is ending. People are crying, cursing, and saying prayers the race swings one way or another. While I don’t share that extreme view I really don’t know what to feel.

This year’s election was the most controversial in years.

Either way, this election is historic. We will have a woman as president or a complete wild card, to be fair. I see so many things as I scroll through my Facebook so many strong thoughts towards the way this race is heading, I sense immense fear. Although, I was too young to vote when Obama was being elected into office the feeling of this election is nowhere near the feeling of the one prior. People where proud, crying tears of joy and happy because America was now so excepting to have elected a black president. However, during Obama’s two terms America showed how racist, and violent it could be. Men who looked just like our president were getting slain in the streets by the police and the justice system did little about it. People had a general feeling of helplessness, and even with all his speeches and condolences president Obama’s hands were also ultimately tied. There were also many people being killed in mass shootings and the American people craved solutions. climates change clothing follows. With that being said, fashion in the African American community mainly shifted towards people embracing their afro hair and even wearing dashiki’s when president Obama won office. In addition, clothing in the general population took on a bohemian or hippy feel. Besides the widespread sporadic violence, fashions remained colorful and had a sense of freedom.

1.
Clothing will become very dark and colors will be washed out versions of themselves (anti-trump)
2.
The colors red white and blue will become very popular and people will dress very patriotic (pro-trump) At any rate it will be interesting to see how all of this plays out.

SHOW REVIEW

Rihanna Fenty X Puma Rihanna’s second show for Puma was as always, very fun and whimsical. Starting with a green and pink color story there was nothing even remotely boring about this show. The satin fabrics featured an oriental embroidery flower pattern. Then there was a segment that spoke to one of this year’s hottest trends, white on white.
“ and frankly Rihanna was written all over it. “
Nudes & browns came next fabricated with lace and silky fabrics, mixed with a certain street style flair, Rihanna herself has mastered. While I am partial to purple this is my least favorite segment of the show. Something about it feels unintentional as if it doesn’t add to the show. All and all the show was fabulous, it has just the right amount of edge, street, and
frankly Rihanna was written all over it.

he saying goes “It’s not about who did it first, it’s about who does it right” and it is very evident that the sisters, Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, are always placed in competition when it comes to their style. There have been several times when Kim and Kylie outfits have looked nearly identical and made us question which sister styled them better. It has been a debate on whose style is being stolen by which sister and which sister looks up to who, but both sisters seem to switch roles often. Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner have both admitted that they tend to feed off one another’s style which almost makes them “style

STYLE, SIZE, FABRICS, TEXTURE, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY COLOR, MAKE UP WHAT WE CALL FASHION.
ALL OF THESE CONCEPTS CHANGE EVERY YEAR, AND CAN CHANGE EVERY SEASON AS WELL, ESPECIALLY
COLOR. COLOR IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTORS BECAUSE IT EXPRESSES WHO YOU ARE. EVERY YEAR THERE ARE CERTAIN COLORS THAT ARE KNOWN AS THE “POPULAR” COLORS OF THE YEAR AND THE MOST WORN. THE PAST YEAR, MAYBE EVEN TWO, NUDES HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY POPULAR IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY. THE NUDE COLOR PALETTE RANGES FROM NUDE, TO PINK, TO TANS, AND LIGHT BROWNS. IT IS VERY POPULAR DUE TO HOW NATURAL THE COLORS ARE AND THEY REFLECT EVERYONE’S SKIN IN A POSITIVE WAY. SOME COLORS CAN BE VERY OVERWHELMING ON PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THEIR SKIN TONE, BUT DUE TO THE VARIETY OF COLORS IN A NUDE PALETTE, EVERYONE LOOKS GREAT IN AT LEAST ONE OF THE COLORS.
MANY DESIGNERS AND STORES ARE PRODUCING PRODUCTS IN THE NUDE COLOR TONES BECAUSE OF HOW POPULAR THEY ARE AND BECAUSE THEIR TARGET MARKET PREFERS THOSE COLORS AS OF RIGHT
IS IN”
NOW. PRODUCING PRODUCTS FOR YOUR TARGET MARKET IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOR DESIGNERS AND
COMPANIES BECAUSE THEY WANT TO MAKE THEIR CUSTOMERS HAPPY. WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL BE THE NEXT POPULAR COLOR TONE?

ociety today makes us less of who we truly are, as new generations come about. The desire to be “perfect” is a part of life. You have to have the perfect body, skin, clothes, education, friends, occupation, and overall lifestyle. The idea engrained in our minds is that if we don’t meet certain standards society has set, we will fail at the idea of being “perfect”. The truth is when we look at how society perceives “natural” men and women we become our unnatural selves.

iving in a Censorious society By: Katrina Deminski
W
e lose the sense of who we are, trying to find ourselves in a society that sets unrealistic goals and expectations that we are pressured into following. If we don’t follow these rules, we are different. Different isn’t wanted in a censorious society; it’s wrong. You’re deemed imperfect if you have a different religion, ethnicity, language, appearance, gender identity, or sexual preference. However, all of these things are what make us unique. Society today, takes pleasure in taking away what makes us ourselves. The question is: If there was no harsh judgment and criticism from society, would we be scared of looking at our natural selves as beautiful?
