Services Sustainable Masterplanning

Collaborative Research

Gensler’s planners work globally on a broad range of projects, from new urban districts and developments to suburban and exurban campuses, centers, and communities. Sustainability is a key focus—with equal concern for the socio-economic health of the community and for its environmental quality. As urban designers, we know how to bring forward the experiential attributes that make a place memorable and attractive.

Based on research and analysis, our approach to masterplanning is grounded in a thorough understanding of that which create attractive places. We seek out creative and innovative solutions, while responding to specific conditions of a site, city, or region in a sustainable framework. We work in close collaboration with our clients and communities to develop high quality, sustainable environments that respond to the aspirations and needs of their users in a strategic and flexible manner.

Multidisciplinary Skills

Framework Implementation

Gensler combines the skills of regional and site planners, architects, urban designers, landscape architects, and place-making specialists to offer a complete range of services dealing with the planning and design of the built environment. Our overall aim is to create places where people want to be, to help enrich our communities, and to contribute to our clients’ success.

This approach is reinforced by a keen awareness of both practical and financial implementation challenges, and the importance of stakeholder and political engagement. We recognize that development frameworks should be flexible to accommodate and anticipate change, yet rigid to guide the design process from initial feasibility strategies through entitlement. The results are master plans that deliver functioning places, full of life and desired by occupants, visitors, and investors alike.
