WHEREAS, the StateofNewHampshirerecognizesindividualsand organizationswho makesignificantandremarkablecontributionstothepeopleandtotheculturalvitalityand enrichmentofthe State; and
WHEREAS, SymphonyNH, "ThesymphonicsoundoftheGranite State,"iscelebratingits 100th anniversaryofthe organization's firstconcert; and
WHEREAS, SymphonyNHhasbeena celebrated sourceofinnovation, inspiration, educationandentertainment since 1923,andisthepremieresymphony orchestraofthe Granite State; and
WHEREAS, SymphonyNewHampshireisdedicatedtoperforminggreatmusicwithan exceptionalorchestratoenrichanddelightdiverseaudiences,expandthemusicaland humanitariancontributionsofNewHampshire'sentireartscommunity,andprovidelearning opportunitieswithperformancesthatspreadbeauty,empowerment,andgoodwill; and
WHEREAS, overthelasttendecades, SymphonyNH,theoldestprofessionalorchestrain the StateofNew Hampshire, hascontributedgreatlytoNewHampshire'scultural proliferationandeconomythroughliveconcertsandeventsthroughoutthestate; educational programs; communityinitiativesandcollaborations withotherartsorganizations; servingas a compelling tourism factor; andhighlightingthe importanceofmusic withinthe Stateof NewHampshire; and
WHEREAS, wejoinwithmembersoftheNew Hampshirecommunityincelebrating SymphonyNH'sCentennialAnniversary andcongratulatethemonreachingthismomentous milestone;
NOW,THEREFORE, I,CHRISTOPHERT.SUNUNU, GOVERNORofthe Stateof NewHampshire,do hereby proclaim APRIL 29,2023asSYMPHONY NH CENTENNIALDAYinthe StateofNew Hampshire, andcall this day tothe attention ofall citizens.
