Nyobi Boddie (she/ her) (Black Lillie-Anne) is a sophomore musical theater major from West Orange, NJ. This is her first production at the Department of Drama and she is honored to have worked with this incredible company. She is very grateful for the love and support from her peers, instructors, friends, and family.
Annie Comegno (she/ her) (White Lillie-Anne) is a sophomore acting major from Moorestown, NJ. This is her first production at the Department of Drama and she is honored to have worked with this incredible company. She is especially thankful for the amazing creative team that has supported her throughout this journey. She is also very grateful for the love and support from her peers, instructors, friends, and her caring family.
Ragan Darmody-Latham (she/they) (White Marie) is a sophomore acting major from Syracuse, NY. Barbecue is her first production at the Department of Drama and they are very excited and honored to have worked on this incredible show with these incredible people. She would like to thank the cast and creative team, her professors, and her family for their love and support during this show.
Maeve Doody (she/ her) (White Adlean) is a junior acting major from Oak Park, IL. She is honored to be part of this exciting show alongside an incredibly talented and dedicated team. This is her second Syracuse University Department of Drama mainstage production, as she was also part of the Department’s run of Cymbeline last spring (Jupiter/Roman Captain, u/s Imogen/Queen), directed by Chris Albright-Tufts. She would like to thank her parents and the rest of her family for their ongoing support and is beyond lucky and grateful to have several of them in the audience for this production (Special shoutout to her Mom, Dad, Aunt Cynthie, Uncle Jim, and her cousin Katie).
Seamus Doyle (he/him) (White James T) is excited to be making his Department of Drama mainstage debut after performing previously in Dealing Dreams (Black Box Players). He is from Boston, MA, and is grateful to join the Barbecue team!
Adeera Harris (Black Marie) is a sophomore musical theater major from Chicago, IL. Adeera is very excited to participate in such a thought provoking play that shines light on many ideas society decides to ignore. For Adeera, tackling this invigorating material has cultivated and expanded great skills that she is excited to bring along with her as she continues her journey in her educational and professional career in the performing arts.
Avery Larson (she/ her) (u/s White LillieAnne) is a sophomore acting major from Snohomish, WA. Barbecue is her first understudy position within the Department of Drama. She would like to thank her family, friends, teachers, and the company of Barbecue for their good vibes and support.
Kari Lynn Miller (she/ her) (u/s White Marie, u/s White Adlean) is a sophomore acting major from Los Angeles, CA. This is her first mainstage production at the Syracuse University Department of Drama. She is excited and grateful to have had this opportunity to explore the world of Barbecue and work with such a wonderful team.
Morgan Perry (she/ her) (Black Barbara) is a junior musical theater major in the Syracuse University Department of Drama. She studied abroad in London last semester as a part of the Department’s Acting at Shakespeare’s Globe program and is excited to be back in Syracuse. This is her second mainstage production, following Sender directed by Terrence Mosley last spring. Morgan would like to thank her friends, family, and Department of Drama for their support and love, and she hopes you enjoy the show!
Tobias Rytting (he/ him) ( Black James T ) is a sophomore musical theater major from Houston, TX. He is really excited to be in his first play and second mainstage show at the Department of Drama.
Dani Saril (she/her) (u/s White Barbara) is a sophomore musical theater major from New Rochelle, NY. She is thrilled to perform in her first mainstage production with the Department of Drama. She sends her love to her wonderful friends and family who have supported her along the way. @danisaril
Kendall Stewart (u/s Black Adlean, u/s Black Marie) is a current sophomore musical theater major from Germantown, MD. This is her first Syracuse University Department of Drama production, and she is so excit- ed to be a part of such an amazing project. She would like to thank the team and cast for this amazing experience.
Haley Thompkins (she/her) (Black Adlean) is a sophomore acting major from Cerritos, CA. She is honored to be returning to the Storch stage after having just made her Department of Drama debut in Failure: A Love Story this past fall. Working alongside this creative team has been an absolute dream come true and she hopes to continue to tell stories like this in her career.
Franco Tomaino (he/ him) (u/s White James T) is a sophomore actor/singer from Wethersfield, CT. This is his first Department of Drama production as well as his first time understudying in a show. Franco could not be more grateful for the support and encouragement of the cast, creative team, and directors throughout the entire rehearsal process. You can see him as Lorenzo in the Department of Drama’s upcoming production of Melancholy Play: A Chamber Musical or on the 21st season of American Idol. Rileigh Very (she/her) (White Barbara) is a junior musical theater major from Pittsburgh, PA. At the Syracuse University Department of Drama, Rileigh was previously in ID as a writer, actress, and choreographer of the devised film piece. She also played Mama Corin/Ensemble in the Department of Drama’s production of As You Like It. Rileigh was recently seen in her first professional production as a Swing in the Syracuse Stage/Department of Drama co-production of The Little Mermaid . She is extremely excited to be playing White Barbara in Barbecue and sends a big thank you to everyone involved in the project.
Malaika Wanjiku (u/s Black Lillie-Anne, u/s Black Barbara) is a native Kenyan and is so thrilled to be a part of this project. Her favorite roles include Bruce/Hortensia in the Syracuse Stage/Department of Drama co-production of Matilda the Musical, Jacques in As You Like It, Penelope Pennywise in Urinetown, and Paulette in Legally Blonde When she isn’t singing, acting, or dancing, she is probably playing golf, making eggs, or reading.
