T h e v e r y f i r s t p r o j e c t o f m y a r h i c t e c t u r a l s t u d i e s s t a r t e d w i t h a s i m p l e e x e rcise, which back then did not seem that simple. We were asked to pick a hist o r i c a l p ro p e r t y i n t h e a re a of O l d Po r t s m o u t h a n d l e a r n i t s h i s t o r y t h ro u g h drawing it to scale. The elevation had to be drawn by hand to scale, both by pencil and pen, and rendered. This was the first time I had my first interaction with a drawing board and immediately fell in love with hand drawings.

Building the Eames House and learning about its architecture was one of the most exciting things I came across. The building is made with so much care, Ray and Charles Eames have created their home and architectural studio within this building and I could be par t of its making in a smaller scale. The exercise was a group project where we had to divide the house in two segments and create a c u t s e c t i o n t h r o u g h i t , m a k i n g a l l t h e i n t e r i o r w a l l s v i s i b l e . T h e h o u s e ’s r e l a tion to its surrounding amazed me and I tried to bring nature into my model.

The objectives of the factor y project were to bring generations together through a r t . w e h a d t o l i n k a s m a l l o b j e c t w h i c h r e f l e c t e d b a c k o n t o Po r t s m o u t h ’s h i s tor y and the factor y was the place of the production of this item. I created my s m a l l b o a t o u t o f c o n c r e t e a n d t h o u g h t o f c r e a t i n g a w o r k s h o p f o r a l l g e n e rations to learn how to use concrete, what they can achieve with this materiaL . The items are then exhibited and could be purchased
if the creater wished
to send the product to mass production. also , visitors can just take home these unique pieces of work they created in memor y of the HMS warrior ship.

Designing an extension for this iconic house was an extremelly challenging task as the building is located at the edge of Holliwood Hills, cantilevering off the rocky hills.I decided to leave the original house untouched and build the extension
o n t h e c l i f f, s e t t i n g s o m e p a r t o f i t i n s i d e t h e m o u n t a i n . T h i s c r e a t-
ed the effect of a hanging/floating building which brutally breakes out of the r o c k s w i t h i t s s t r a i g h t l i n e s a n d p o i n t y v i e w - p o i n t s . R e c r e a t i n g t h e h o u s e ’s h i s t o r y, I d e s i g n e d t w o u n i t s w h i c h a r e c o n n e c t e d a n d a c c e s s i b l e b y a s t o n e s t a i rcase car ved out of the rocks. On unit is private to accommodate a film making studio - representing Hollywood. While the other wing brings into life a public exhibition, where beautiful photographs can be seen of the iconic house.

T h e Y o u t h H o s t e l i s l o c a t e d b y a n a t u r a l f o r e s t , n e a r t h e s e a , s i t t i n g i n a s m a l l v a l l e y. The project was inspired by the birds’ movements, living in the area. The 4 wings of the building gracefully acommodate different functions of the building, such as hostel rooms, restaurant area, bird obser vator y and research centre for wildlife. There is no long list of activities we could pick from when it comes to relaxation and re-connection with ourselves. I designed a new public building for the use of local residents and unit, which is

The spa will create several new job oppor tunities and will provide quality ser vices which no other hotel does in the surrounding areas.
