It is our pleasure to welcome you to our 4th annual Female Focus Production sale. Each year we try and add new genetics to our program to maintain the highest standard of quality, and to keep our program moving forward, ultimately providing our customers cattle that will go home and work as hard for them as they do for us. This year is no exception and offers some great individuals sired by South Point, Charlo 0256, Renewal 8100, and Express way to name a few.

We would like to invite everyone out sale day, a complementary lunch will be served and there is plenty of room for everyone in our new heated sale facility.

We are excited to be working with T bar C, they have been with us since the beginning and know our program and the cattle. They are always available if you need assistance making a selection. The sale will again be broadcast online live on DLMS for those who can’t join us sale day or prefer to bid online.

I feel the sale offering is extremely deep in quality from both us as well as the Hollinger’s. The females in the sale are a result of many well thought out decisions made over many years.

This year our feature heifer calf lot will be choice of the natural born Alcatraz heifer calves. I feel this is an excellent opportunity to get first chance from our heifer pen.

The bred heifers in the sale this year are the large majority of the group. We are retaining the heifers we purchased last year and the heifers that were offered for sale before. The offering is deep in quality and we stand behind every heifer on offer.

This year we are excited to sell our first bred females by Conley South Point. Our offering also features daughters of HF Alcatraz, Brooking Lexington and FF Black Gold. All of the heifers are bred to bulls that we strongly believe in. This year features services to four breed leading sires. A large majority of the bred heifers carry the service to Sitz Resilient or HF Alcatraz. The walking bulls who covered these heifers are two outstanding individuals. RRAR Mindbender was the lead off bull selected from Brian McCarthy’s herd last spring and the calves on the ground are very impressive. J Square S Black Gold 900G has proven himself as a great breeding piece for ourselves as well as Glasman Farms Ltd.

Undoubtedly one of the most unique females we have had the pleasure to work with. She combines the power and substance that Bloodline offers with the style and balance of watchman. She is stout made, bold in her centre body and rib and elegant through her shoulder, neck and head. Most importantly this one is gonna make a momma cow. Her dam is highly maternal and has done an absolutely outstanding job on her first 2 calves. As an added bonus she is extremely quiet natured and could be handled by anyone. The daughters we have in production are perfect uddered and raised calves at the very top end of their respective contemporary groups. 58k is one that could be very competitive at any level in the show ring.

An ET daughter of the one and only “Express” out of our 136a Donor. 136a was also the dam of the feature heifer calf in our inaugural sale that was selected by Longview Angus for $13750. So as they say the proof is in the pudding. Here’s more proof that 136a really knows how to get it done. 70k is a really nice featured individual that is soft in her design and correct in her build. This one has a ton of potential and Is an outcross to a very large portion of the angus cattle in Canada. Grab hold the options are endless.

Sired by none other than Charlo 0256 himself, here is a female that I just love in terms of her overall balance and eye appeal. She is moderate framed and stout made, and looks to be setting down an exceptional udder. For the last four years we have always tried to offer a special feature lot to sell alongside our bred heifers. In past years we have offered an exciting cow calf pair and two picks of flushes from our leading donors. This year we are offering pick of the natural born heifers calves that are sired by HF Alcatraz 60F. After three breeding seasons HF Alcalatraz 60F, the $200,000 high selling bull of 2019 needs no introduction. His progeny have been widely accepted for all the right reasons. His daughters are now in production and are doing a great job. There are ten heifers to pick from out of some of our best cow families. Cow families such as Ruth, Miss Essence, Enchantress, and Princess are on offer. This is something that we are excited to offer and would be more than willing to tour the group. Selection to be made by March 2023.

What a great way to lead off our bred heifer offering with none other than a standout Sitz Major daughter. This female’s dam walked through this very same ring in 2020 and was purchased by Alvin Frick. She is one of the first in the pen to notice as she has a very appealing presence about her. Something a little different on paper for us. Her early exposure to Alcatraz is definitely exciting.

This female is found by everyone and for good reason. She is very attractive in her make up, deep bodied and a member of the Forever Lady cow family. The Forever Lady females are quite popular seeing as 301Y has thirty two progeny in her production record and is still going. This is a definite sale feature. A maternal sister sold to Tambri Farm a couple years ago.

South Point has really clicked well here and this heifer is a great example of that. Her Jag sired dam consistently raises quality calves year after year. As most know, Alvin Frick owns a number of cows here that are on lease and this would be one of them. Alvin picked this females dam from the First Female Focus sale and has been nothing but outstanding since that day. The Prairie Gold cattle have fit in very well. He did suffer a bit of an injury but is all better now as we await our biggest group of calves from him in January. She is favorable to Resilient which I’m sure will be electric and can’t wait to see her progeny in the future.

The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION:

Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Angus Association unless otherwise stated. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

PEDIGREE ESTIMATES

Pedigree Estimates (PE) are created on the projected mating of the animal’s sire and dam based on averages of the two, creating estimated values that do not hold the same accuracy of actual EPDs issued from the association and should be used as such.

HEALTH:

All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements.

GUARANTEE:

Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Angus Association with regard to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness.

PREGNANCY INFORMATION:

All serviceable age females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian, giving an estimated length of gestation. This estimated gestation period shall be used only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service.
