Welcome to the 2022 edition of the Queens Of The Heartland Female Sale. Once again we feel very privileged to share this group of heifers with our customers, as well as the progressive breeders who are bringing some of their very best cattle for you to view on sale day. We are also pleased to welcome Rocky Meadow Ranch as a new consignor from just down the road.

These cattle have been selected right from the heart of our program, most with early calving dates and several carrying the service of our herdsire, Wheatland Monument 28H. We welcomed his first calf crop this past winter and the results were exactly what we hoped. They came easy and then exploded with growth. We are very pleased with his offspring in both the heifer and bull pens. The rest of our offerings are carrying appealing services to JPCC Rito 174H our high-selling half blood bull in our 2021 sale, who was purchased by M &J Farms, or JPCC Storm 95J our high-selling ½ blood bull in 2022 to Rocky Meadow Ranch and Peeco Ranch. All but one heifer was exposed to Scissors Hemisphere 2H, a calving ease bull who we purchased from Scissor Creek Cattle. The heifers were preg-checked at the beginning of August, which allowed our vet to give us an accurate decision on being safe to AI date or bull.

Many of these heifers are off good young producing females, and are sired by some of the most popular bulls in our bull battery, Wheatland Royal Flush, JPCC Ignition, Wheatland Affiliate, just to name a few.

Welcome to the 2022 edition of “Queens of the Heartland” Production Sale, December 1st hosted by JP Cattle Co., McAuley, Manitoba. The folks at JP Cattle and their guests are dedicated breeders who make their livelihoods from agriculture. They know the essentials of producing predictable and profitable breeding stock and each year add new genetics to further improve and achieve goals individually and for their customers. New for this year, we would like to welcome Rocky Meadow Ranch, the Grose Family as new guest consignors.

The sale offering covers the field with Reds, Blacks, Full Bloods, and commercial heifers. The papered cattle are awesome and consistent in type, broody, deep yet moderate in frame. They supply genetics from leading proven sires in the breed and carry early services to sires that offer both performance and calving ease.

The commercial bred heifers have been a feature since this event was founded... they will not disappoint you upon inspection. are excited to be involved with this sale for the third straight year now as we enjoy being a part of this great group of fellow breeders. We have been breeding Simmental cattle for 20 years now and have worked hard to build our herd of high-quality females. Having reached our ideal herd size a few years ago we have been culling hard and only keeping the very best and you can really see the results in our cowherd today. We are offering three bred heifers from the top of our purebred pen, as well as two commercial bred heifers that would work well in any herd. These heifers have not been babied in anyway and were just pulled off of pasture a month before pictures. In these times of expensive feed we strongly feel that moderate framed, easy doing females are the only kind to have and these heifers exemplify that!

A real easy doing heifer here that patterns very well. She is deep flanked and has big spring of rib. She is really strong footed and clean in her lines. But with it being my first time consigning to a sale and the fact that I have already retained a lot of Tesla daughters I brought all my very top end. This heifer is so broody and soggy made and yet maintains enough feminine features to make her what I think will be an exceptional cow that should raise top quality progeny, both male and female. Her dam, 182F, just weaned off a full sib bull calf that is right at the top of the pen. These Tesla daughters won’t disappoint! Bred to 5015C, this pairing should make for a very exciting calf.

Here is an exciting offering of a couple of ET sisters sired by LFE McDavid, the bull who worked so well in the Spring Creek Simmentals program for years and just so happens to be the sire of my Spring Creek Tesla 6E bull that I have had such great success with. 6J was the first calf off 178G and she did a heck of a job. 178G is a daughter of JPCC Mr. Daredevil 155D, a direct 56U son and his dam is JP’s Spring Creek Goldy 135A flush cow. 178G is a very feminine pearshaped cow and her daughter 6J is showing to be much the same. A double shot of 56U in 6J’s pedigree can’t hurt!

Brian McCarthy was out through my herd last fall and picked 13J’s dam and granddam as cows you would love to flush if they were purebred Simmental. Excellent body and udder structure in addition to awesome feet. 13J should mature into a front pasture cow that you can build a herd around.

He has done an exceptional job for us, and Brian has used him as well with success. Since this is our first time consigning in a sale, there haven’t been many daughters of Tesla offered as we have been retaining them for ourselves, and boy are they doing a good job around here. 4J’s dam is a moderate framed deep sided daughter of 5015C. 4J should be a good one!

103J is a real attractive half-blood heifer whose dam is a purebred Angus cow and daughter of RRAR 12B. Along with JP Cattle Co and Sunrise Simmentals, we purchased Rising Star 12B as the high selling Angus bull for $26,000 from Brian’s sale a few years back. Unfortunately, we lost him to an injury young in his career so there isn’t a lot of progeny around, but the ones we did get were very high quality. 103J’s sire is a 5015C son and out of the JTC 29B flush cow that Stacy, Brooke, and I owned together and flushed with lots of success. I kept 103J’s sire RMR 104F to use myself as he is dark red and I wanted to implement some more 5015C genetics into my red cattle.

TERMS...

The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

BIDDING...

Each animal will sell to the highest bidder...no by-bidding will be permitted. Disputes - Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in dispute. If no further bidding is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final.

ANNOUNCEMENTS...

All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to such disclosures.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION...

Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Simmental Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

PEDIGREE ESTIMATES

Pedigree Estimates (PE) are created on the projected mating of the animal’s sire and dam based on averages of the two, creating estimated values that do not hold the same accuracy of actual EPDs issued from the association and should be used as such.

All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone, mail or wire their bids and instructions to the sale managers, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.

DELIVERY...

We will assist in arranging transportation wherever possible. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.

INSURANCE...

Will be available sale day. We strongly recommend that insurance is purchased for full value.
