WELCOME!

Welcome to our 29th Annual Southwest Bull Developement Centre sale. A little over 28 years ago a group of progressive breeders gathered at Melita one evening and discussed the idea of starting this development centre. Some of those breeders have moved on, both with their own sales or dispersed their herds. But one thing that has not changed is that the Development Centre is still located at Oak Lake. The bulls are fed in a large area allowing lots of exercise to grow and develop. The ration of 50% Grass/alfalfa hay, 47.5% oats, 2.5% Supplement in a self-feeder, and is designed for a gain of 3lbs./day.

All the bulls have passed a semen evaluation before the sale. The carcass data has been collected and will be available on sale day.

The sale is at Batho Farms Ltd. and online at DLMS.ca. The bulls have been videoed in mid March and clips of each bull will be presented during the sale. We encourage everyone to come at anytime to view bulls at the development centre before the sale.

A flashy deep bodied bull that’s sure to be a head turner. Lots of natural muscle with a frame capable of packing on the pounds. His dam is a heavy milking productive cow.

Another quality Earnhardt son full of potential. A long bodied solid footed bull that’ll produce in any herd. His dam is another solid cow out of the D year that continue to produce our top calves every year. She is an easy keeping larger framed cow with lots of milk.

Large famed Earnhardt son that should flesh out nicely. His combination of length and height is something to be excited about. A true power bull primed for strong framed cows.

Flashy bull bound to produce growthy calves. A bit better calving ease than the other Earnhardt sons but still has all the length and power that they all possess. His dam is a heavy milking cow that would rank in the 5%.

A strong heifer bull prospect out of a first calver that gave everything she had to this bull. A nice low birthweight but doesn’t give up growth potential. These Right Answer calves are stout made and impress every year.

Another low birthweight bull suitable for heifers. This guy shows lots of promise with his gains at Southwest. His dam is a solid medium framed girl that goes back to density. She has a beautiful udder, and we are excited to see her future calves.
