It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the Strongbow Farms 6th Annual Bull Sale. We are honored to be able to offer the industry the largest selection of Black Angus yearling bulls in the whole of Manitoba.

We would like to thank our past customers for their support in our brand and the confidence that you have placed in our breeding program.

This year presents the most diverse offering to date – a fantastic offering of calving ease bulls along with a tremendous offering of power bulls. The sire groups on offer include Rainfall, Growth-fund, Renown, Bloodline, Renovation and Taft to name a few.

The offering of bulls with heifer pen potential is second to none this year – sired by breed leading genetics, sporting low birth weights, and heavy gaining traits.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the bulls please feel free to give us a call or text anytime, no one knows these bulls better than we do.

Free delivery will begin right after sale day. If you are unable to take your bull when we are going by the bulls can be pick anytime before the end of May.

We encourage you to come and personally examine the bulls here at the ranch prior to bidding. They are always available for viewing. A live sale will be taking place at the ranch this year and will also be broadcasted live through DLMS for internet bidding for those not able to attend the sale in person. It is with great excitement that we at T Bar C welcome you to the Strongbow Farms Sixth Annual Bull Sale, hosted at the Bertholet family’s beautifully designed ranch in Hartney, Manitoba. The SBF cowherd is expansive, through Devon and Heather’s fierce focus on always progressing further and sourcing the greatest genetics offered on the market, they have built a set of females responsible for producing the quality of bulls you will see in these pages that have solidified their status as a force within the Angus industry. Strongbow Farms boasts the not only the largest offering of Black Angus bulls in Manitoba, but also cattle of the utmost quality, consistency, and predictability.

The Growth Funds lead off the sire groups in the 2023 catalogue, with an exceptional herd sire prospect as Lot 1. Growth Fund 2060 is massive no matter what angle you choose to analyze him from, which translates to a big weaning and yearling when you critique his figures. We think there is a huge amount of future here. As a whole, the Growth Fund cattle are born easy and take off, all while stamping a great structural design and foot into his progeny. Following along is the largest sire group, the Bloodline’s. Bloodline is heralded in the industry as being the best son thus far of Rainfall, which should go to show the value he holds. Again, these type of cattle are made to come easy and do nothing but grow, all while maintaining an excellent body score at all times. Of course, to follow suit would be the Rainfall sire group, and he sure has been good to the Strongbow operation. Leading off is a phenomenal son of S A V Emblynette 5360, this proud made bull will be easy to find touring the pens in Hartney. The Rainfall group as a whole are a moderate framed brand of cattle, but once they are put on a scale you realize just how much that stoutness and thickness translates. The Renovation progeny follow suit, featuring cattle with a tremendous amount of hair and lower base, all put together in an extremely attractive package. Some of the smaller groups on offer include Saturate, Taft, Franklin, General, and Renown. These are all extremely uniform groups which are made to cover many bases. Whether you are looking for calving ease or performance, it can be found here. The one thing that is constant throughout the 100 bulls offered is the sheer beauty and high level of production from the dams behind these future herd sires.

5. THE TOP CUT. This bull pen has been sorted down from our 850 head cow herd. Only the very top cut (25%) of the calf crop sells.

4. ALL WE DO. Our entire family relies on the beef industry. In 2023 we plan to calve 2000 head between purebreds and commercials. We know they type of cattle that last.

TERMS...

The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

BIDDING...

Each animal will sell to the highest bidder... no by-bidding will be permitted. Disputes - Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in dispute. If no further bidding is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final.

ANNOUNCEMENTS...

All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to such disclosures.

BREEDER’S GUARANTEE...

All bulls sold are guaranteed breeders by the owners. We guarantee to provide you with a sound breeding bull. Should any bull fail to be an unsatisfactory breeder, he will be replaced with a bull of equal value, or a credit will be given toward the purchase of another bull. If you have a problem with your bull please notify us immediately. Under no circumstances will the seller be liable for more than the purchase price of the animal.

EXCEPTION GUARANTEE...

In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION...

Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Angus Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

PEDIGREE ESTIMATES...

Pedigree Estimates (PE) are created on the projected mating of the animal’s sire and dam based on averages of the two, creating estimated values that do not hold the same accuracy of actual EPDs issued from the association and should be used as such.

LIABILITIES...

All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties and any legal action that may in exceptional cases be taken must be between the buyer and the seller. T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfillment of all guarantees and representations made hereunder.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS...

The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone, mail or wire their bids and instructions to the sale managers, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.

Free delivery will begin in early April. Please work with us to ensure we can deliver the bulls in the most efficient manner.
