Welcome to the 2023 edition of the Wheatland bull sale. This will mark their 19th annual sale and, as the third Thursday, it is one that the most astute cattleman has become accustomed to anxiously wait for some of the most sought-after Simmental, Angus and Sim/Angus bulls each year. This year’s offering will not disappoint the true cattleman.

The red bull pen is as deep in quality as ever produced in Bienfait. It will be lead off by the first calf crop of Wheatland Next Century, the $242,000 dollar high selling bull from 2021. His first sons on offer will carry his torch proudly as they are a stout, hairy, dark red set with phenotype to burn. This will be the largest group of red bulls Wheatland has ever assembled to offer. You will find a cross selection of power cow and calving ease bulls in the group.

The black pen has a phenomenal set of deep, soggy, hairy bulls packed with muscle and phenotype. They are backed up by a cow herd that was built from the ground up focusing on udders, feet, fertility and phenotype. This group has all the boxes checked and will not disappoint the most astute cattleman.

The Angus division is the largest and deepest set to date. With more embryo work being focused on, it has allowed the Angus division to excel in both numbers and quality. This group of bulls stems from elite cow families within the breed and have been mated to some of the most sought-after genetics, both new and proven in the breed. They are a mix of power bulls that take no back seat in the offering, as well, some bulls are focused on low birth calving and maternal traits.

There is a small group of extra age bulls that have been produced solely of a fall embryo program. These have been produced from some of the highest quality females Wheatland has assembled. They are a great fit for cattlemen that demand a combo of the best genetics with a little extra age to cover more ground the first year. Study this group as it will not disappoint.
