so ARE BAND TO WATCH THIS WEEK IS THE [PRETTY FREGILE FROM EXETER HOME OF THE LEGENDAIRY EXETER CAVERNS. they are a

alternative band and have influences from bands like smashing pumpkins and nine inch nails. HEAR IS THE BAND TO TELL YOU MORE ABOUT THEM SELFS. The Pretty Fragile started out as a solo project late 2012 with the recording of the debut album 'Cold Skin'. I (Paul Abrey) wrote, performed and engineered the whole album using a sequencer for the drums. This effort came after a hiatus from the music scene and all of the difficult issues I had inside were poured out into this album. The album was released January 2013 and straight after this I began work on a music score for a theatre production which took some months. Once this was finished I began to look for musicians to form a live band and get The Pretty Fragile moving forward. This proved difficult, going through a number of drummers and bassists and in November 2013 I paused this effort to concentrate on writing some new material. Over the winter of 2013/14 the EP 'I Can Bite Harder Than You' was written and recorded with the help of bassist Dan Nicholls. As with Cold Skin, 'I Can Bite Harder Than You' was mastered by Jason Mitchell at Flytrap and once this was done, with a planned release date of May 2014, the search for musicians resumed. First on board was Mat Simo Sims (bass) and we started working together as a two piece using a sequencer for drums. End of April 2014, we found our drummer, Sam Strachen. By this point the EP release was imminent and following a fair bit of radio airplay of songs from 'Cold Skin', we had been invited to record a live session for BBC Introducing in Devon. This kinda put the pressure on so we focused all our efforts into rehearsing 3 tracks for the BBC Session and with general life commitments hindering our rehearsal time (as is the case with all bands starting out) we were ready with our three tracks just 8 weeks later ( 3 days before we were due to perform we found out we actually needed 4 songs, so hastily I prepared a solo performance of the song 'Touch Me') and performed our session June 14th. This is so far our greatest moment since The Pretty Fragile went from solo project to band, but, as a starting point we think it's a pretty damn good one.

Woe to you, oh earth and sea For the Devil sends the beast with wrath Because he knows the time is short Let him who hath understanding Reckon the number of the beast For it is a human number Its number is six hundred and sixty six I left alone, my mind was blank, I needed time to think To get the memories from my mind What did I see? Can I believe that what I saw That night was real and not just fantasy? Just what I saw in my old dreams Were they reflections of my warped mind staring back at me 'Cause in my dreams, it's always there The evil face that twists my mind and brings me to despair Night was black, was no use holding back 'Cause I just had to see, was someone watching me? In the mist, dark figures move and twist Was all this for real or just some kind of Hell? 6 6 6, the number of the beast Hell and fire was spawned to be released Torches blazed and sacred chants were praised As they start to cry, hands held to the sky In the night, the fires are burning bright The ritual has begun, Satan's work is done 6 6 6, the number of the beast Sacrifice is going on tonight This can't go on, I must inform the law Can this still be real, or just some crazy dream? But I feel drawn towards the chanting hordes Seem to mesmerize, can't avoid their eyes 6 6 6, the number of the beast 6 6 6, the one for you and me I'm coming back, I will return And I'll possess your body, and I'll make you burn I have the fire, I have the force I have the power to make my evil take its course

one album im sure is on everyone's Christmas list this year is the new album by slipknot " The Gray Chapter " A tribute to Paul Gray. This is slipknots 1st album sints all hope is gone back in 2008 and my God it was worth the wait. The Deluxe edition contains 19 songs all in all and features the negative one and the devil in eye two songs in my top ten slipknot tunes of all time. The New albums mixes new sounds with old school slipknot sounds making it new but not changing the sounds that we love slipknot for. This is also the 1st album not to feature Joe Jordison former slipknot drummer and also features Joe Replacement as well as another new member. So the question is does this effect the quality of the band is it the same band. ? my answer to that is that slipknot hasn't changed one bit. The over all essence and over all explosiveness of the band remains the same. The band are will go on tour in the uk in 2015 and will be headlining download festival as well so be sure to check them out and hear them play some of there new stuff as well. I Give This album.
