First Timer’s Guide to TISE East Pack for Every Occasion The International Surface Event East (TISE East) is more than just a tradeshow. You'll be attending education sessions, meeting potential clients and business partners, attending special functions, networking on and off the show floor and hopping from one exhibit to the next so it’s important to pack for every occasion. If you've ever been to Miami Beach, you know that the weather can be somewhat unpredictable so be sure and check weather listings before you leave. That said, Miami Beach is a real casual, trendy city. Be sure to bring professional, but comfortable (and breathable) clothes for the day time and something fun and trendy for the evening. Also, it's all about the shoes. You're going to be doing a lot of walking. If you can manage it, you may want to have a change of shoes on hand at all times. Your feet will thank you! Don’t forget your swimsuit! Average temperatures during mid to late October are around 85° in Miami Beach so the ocean will still be nice enough to take a dip. Even if you decide to stay away from the beach, you can always enjoy a swim at an indoor pool. You should also pack a reusable water bottle. The air in the convention center can be dry and the weather outside may be humid. You’ll need to stay hydrated.
Check Your Flight Delays and cancellations happen. Keep a close eye on your flight times leading up to your departure for TISE East and always keep copies of your flight confirmation on hand just in case.
Know Your Hotel Be sure you know the complete name of your hotel. There are a lot of hotels in Miami Beach and there are only a certain number of hotels in our Official Housing block. Keep hard copies of your hotel reservation confirmations on hand.
Driving If you are planning to drive around the Miami Beach area during TISE East, consider using alternative forms of transportation. Parking around the convention center and hotels may be limited, making it difficult to get around. Taxis are available abundantly in Miami Beach; check with your hotel concierge for their recommended list of Taxi services. They may even offer complimentary hotel Shuttle service within a certain number of miles.

Make a Schedule You don't have to stick with it, but having some place to start will make all the difference. Plus, in the process of making your schedule, you may discover things you would not have come across otherwise.
Find a TISE East Friend See if you know anyone else attending the show by using the “Friends” feature in the Mobile App. Seek out fellow attendees or speakers who have some experience with the event to give you advice, guide you and even show you around.
Pace Yourself You will have the urge to hit the ground running and try to cram as much into your first day as possible. Resist it! You will only be overwhelmed and disappointed when you find you don't have the energy to go to that great evening event you had your heart set on. As they say, TISE East is a marathon, not a sprint.
Lost & Found Lost & Found will be located in the Show Office (Miami Beach Convention Center, Floor 1, Lobby Area). You can turn in found items to the Show Office receptionist. A thorough description of the item and the location it was lost in will need to be given to the receptionist in order to retrieve lost items.
Human Arrows While at the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC), if you do happen to get lost or have a question to ask, find one of the TISE East Human Arrows. These gate-keepers of show knowledge and information can be distinguished by their electric blue ties and will be hanging out in the Level 1 lobby area of the MBCC. There will also be a few Info Counters in the lobby area as well. You can also locate your exact location using the “Locate Me” feature within the Mobile App.
Read the Printed Materials When you pick up your materials in the registration area, take a moment to look through them carefully. Pay particular attention to the Floor Plan. It will have a list of all the exhibiting companies, education session times, schedule of special events and a detailed map of the Show Floor at MBCC. We hope you've found this guide helpful.
