Mixed Use Tower Elgin, IL The tower design is part of the“Envision Elgin”master plan. This design is an ongoing project purposed to breathe life into the once thriving city of Elgin, Illinois. The goal for this portion of the“Envision Elgin”project was to propose a new tower where the iconic Elgin tower once stood. Designed to attract young professionals looking to be close to downtown Chicago, the cheaper prices that the suburbs offer is a pull for a new generation to inhabit the city. The tower sustains community by providing living space, offices, and entertainment. The design is specific for providing residents not only with everything they need to live from day to day, but also encourages members of the community to be a part of the tower community itself by taking advantage of all of the amenities the tower has to offer.

Net-Zero Rehabilitation Center Chicago, IL This net- zero rehabilitation center located on the South West corner of Van Buren and Des Plaines in Chicago. It is designed to be a therapeutic space to aid college-aged students who are transitioning from having drug addictions to integrating into a new life in college. Designed to allow the maximum amount of sunlight in to create an uplifting environment, the roof of the building slopes to the south to aid the photovoltaics on the roof of the building-capturing the most energy but also allowing the maximum amount of sunlight to penetrate deep in the building. Such photovoltaics will help lessen the amount of artificial light needed through the courtyard and skylight scattered across the buildings roof.

JECTION San Antonio and The Beanstalk San Antonio, TX “Jack’s beanstalk” is planted in our Earth, but it takes Jack up to an expansive new world in the clouds. “San Antonio and the Beanstalk” bring one cloud back down, to San Antonio. Honoring the curiosity of every child to explore new worlds, especially those that sprout from a care for our planet. As an object, it is floating, ephemeral, not truly complete until there is a crowd moving through it. Five steel columns intertwine to form the stalk, which pierces a cloud of ninety mesh 2 panels that sway in the wind and A8 at the touch of every hand. There is no “entrance” to the beanstalk—each person can approach from their own direction, their own perspective. And yet, as visitors are drawn to it, they approach a common focus, a shared center. Role: Lead Designer/ Project Manager/ Lead fabricator

Koehler House New Braunfels, TX A small Texas modern house just outside the city limits of New Braunfels. This house sits atop a hill over looking a vast valley. A standing seam roof witch raps the entire building North to South and series of large steel and glass doors opening to the northing gives the barn then same modern feels as the main house.
