Range of opportunities for UK companies to aid with the development, construction and operation of a Pumped Storage Hydropower Plant (PSHPP). A Romanian company is looking for UK companies to aid with the development, construction and operation of a Pumped Storage Hydropower Plant (PSHPP) In order to achieve the main objectives of the development strategy of the energy sector in Romania, the Government has created a special purpose vehicle (SPV) aimed at implementing, a pumped storage hydropower plant at Tarnița-Lăpuștești. The plant will be built in Cluj county, and excavated on Lăpuștești plateau, at an altitude of 1100 meters. The plant is proposed to be equipped with four reversible pumping/turbine units with 1000 MW total installed capacity (4x250 MW). The construction is planned to be completed in 5 to 7 years.
