He is also the former Sri Lankan Consul General to Los Angeles (11 States) and present Sri Lankan Consul General to Colombia and Venezuela. Jeff recently had been appointed as the Honorary Mayor, Political Advisor, Trade, Promotions & Investments to City Of Oceanside, California, USA and also as a Honorary Mayor of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA. SPORTS CITY – RANGIRI DAMBULLA, SRI LANKA THE CONTEX Dambulla is a historical city which is situated in the cultural triangle and bordered by five provinces. The site is 1.5km away from the city of Dambulla. The environs are rural in nature and climatically Dambulla is within the dry zone and it is an ideal location for cricket and other sports activities which need to be played all year round.
SPORTS CITY – RANGIRI DAMBULLA, SRI LANKA THE CONTEX Modern visitors come to this region to watch international cricket matches. One of the highlights of a visit here is about 25 kilometres from the Dambulla stadium: Sigiriya the fifth century rock fortress built over fifteen hundred years ago by King Kasyapa.. Even closer to the stadium is the ancient rock temple of Dambulla, another of Sri Lanka's World Heritage Sites. This “temple” actually consists of five rock caves. Three of these caves date back to the first century BC, two others having been added in the late 18th and early 20th centuries. The original temple was constructed by King Valagamba, who, having lost his kingdom to invaders from South India, took refuge in these caves for 15 years. Close to Dambulla and Sigiriya are two other ancient capitals and UNESCO World Heritage sites, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruva. The former was Sri Lanka’s first capital, being established around 500 BC, and has some unique places of Buddhist worship. Polonnaruva was Sri Lanka’s capital from the 11th to the 14th centuries, and still boasts some of the world’s most impressive Buddhist stupas. One, the Gal Vihara, has four large statues carved from the rock face.

KALPITIYA BEACH PROPERTY ABOUT KALPITIYA Kalpitiya: located 130 km north of Colombo Bandaranayke Airport, is an exquisite coastal region located in the Western coastal belt north of Colombo. Kalpitiya is a peninsula set in between the deep lagoon of Puttalama to the east and Indian Ocean to the west. Kalpitiya is an unrivalled marine sanctuary with a diversity of habitats ranging from bar reefs, flat coastal plains, saltpans, mangroves swamps, salt marshes and vast sand dune beaches. Kalpitiya for its presence of Sperm Whales and an occasional Blue Whale alone is a world class attraction of marine life. Whales are regularly seen around the Kalpitiya Peninsula. Interestingly it was only from around February 2010 that Kalpitiya is finally considered as a destination to catch the sight of the majestic whale. Boat trips are regularly taken off Kalpitiya Peninsula to a off-shore site to catch the sights of Sperm whales, the largest toothed whale in the world, can be seen offshore of the reef. The Sperm Whale, in the hunt of Giant Squid, dives several hundred meters in the ocean. Kalpitiya Peninsula with its continental shelf provides an ideal habitat to the Sperm Whale.
BAR REEF AT KALPITIYA
Bar Reef, the largest coral reef (307 square km) in Sri Lanka that can be reached in an hour's boat trip from Kalpitiya, serves the ideal sea for keen scuba divers and snorkelers. The beautiful reef, exceedingly rich in bio-diversity, is home to an incredible variety of tropical fish as well as offering sighting of manta rays, occasional turtles and scenic corals.

Boat Rides up the lagoon and canoe trips down the river are a pleasant way of exploring the coastline, whilst 4WD jeep rides along the deserted sand dunes between the ocean and the lagoon offer a unique way of watching the colorful evening sunsets.

The first beach at Kalpitiya that was developed within the Kalpitiya mega tourist development project is Alankuda Beach. Boat trips are regularly taken off the beach at Alankuda and head out to sea to see Sperm Whale. The best sight to see at Alankuda is the lovely dolphins.
