ACCEPTED QUALIFICATICATIONS FROM ETHIOPIA Qualification Ethiopian School Leaving Certificate (overall 50%+) with GCSE subject equivalency; Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Examination (from 2003); Diploma (1 year from a university)

Leads to entry into

Foundation year

Diploma (2 years from a university) – 60% or above; Year 1 of Bachelors degrees Technical/Vocational Diploma (3 years) (Level 4) A recognised International Foundation course from Year 1 of Bachelors degrees a UK institution. Entry requirements vary but we (Level 4) normally ask for between 60% and 65%


FOUNDATION PROGRAMME (FP) • Designed by IIT for students who do not meet the entry criteria for degree programmes offered by the university • Provides access to 1st year of degree programme • Is accepted by many universities in Australia and UK for direct entry to 1st year • 1 year programme

Standard Entry Requirement (Other qualifications will be considered for entry) 6 passes in Ordinary Level exams with a Credit pass in English and Mathematics

BEng (Hons) SOFTWARE ENGINEERING (SE) BSc (Hons) INFORMATION SYSTEMS WITH BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT (ISBM) • 4 year sandwich programme with 1 year industrial placement • Students of IIT will receive the degree certificate and transcripts as per University of Westminster, UK (Internal certifications) • Students can transfer to UK as the classes conducted are parallel to what is being taught in UK Standard Entry Requirement (Other qualifications will be considered for entry) Minimum 3 passes at the GCE Advanced Level AND 6 passes in Ordinary Level exams with a Credit pass in English and Mathematics

Sandwich placement year (12 Months) The course offers you the opportunity to take a yearlong placement between Year 2 and Year 3 (Credit Levels 5 and 6). This will give you practical skills to accompany your theoretical knowledge, and bring you a competitive edge in the job market. Our students have been placed working on live projects in leading software development companies.


TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT - SE The course is practice based, and includes substantial amounts of project and group work It combines lecture, tutorial and practical laboratory elements Formal exams are supported by continuous assessment


ASSOCIATED CAREERS - SE You will possess knowledge of a range of technical subjects, and the ability to synthesise this knowledge to produce practical solutions to engineering requirements in a large number of application areas. You will typically be part of a team building software applications for business and industry. Typical career opportunities include: software engineer, web application programmer, software designer/ analyst, website designer/ programmer, or senior team leader. the degree will also give you adequate knowledge and study skills to continue with further study and/or research.

TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT - ISBM Lectures, tutorials and computer workshops are supported by a variety of teaching methods, computer-enhanced learning tools, and industrystandard applications software. We place an emphasis on active student involvement and problem solving. Assessments are either based on a combination of course work and an end-of-module exam, or assessed through course work only.


ASSOCIATED CAREERS - ISBM This course develops your understanding of the business challenges of an enterprise, and your ability to conceive and manage solutions which are increasingly ICTdependent. You will integrate your skills of problem solving and information systems modelling with your knowledge of business processes and environments. You will be able to consult on, support or develop the technological platforms of an enterprise to achieve competitive advantage, building a career in roles ranging from systems developer to business manager..
