University partnership pathway In addition to agreed TAFE NSW credit transfer arrangements, Sydney TAFE also offers several degree programs on-site at our colleges in partnership with the University of Wollongong, Charles Sturt University, the University of Ballarat, and Deakin University. Students graduating from selected linked-in advanced diplomas can get up to two years credit in these three-year degrees.
University of Ballarat The University of Ballarat Bachelor of Applied Management degree can now be delivered on site at St George College. Ultimo College has also delivered the Bachelor of Hospitality Management from Semester 2, 2013. Students who have completed their Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications may apply and be granted two years recognition for the degree program. They are then able to complete the bachelor qualification in one year. (Note: Ballarat University will be known as Federation University Australia from 2014.)
Bachelor of Commerce programs, University of Wollongong (UOW) Bachelor of Commerce (Event Management) and Bachelor of Commerce (Hospitality Management)
The partnership between Sydney TAFE and UoW offers students undertaking either an Advanced Diploma of Events, or an Advanced Diploma of Travel and Tourism, the opportunity to co-enrol in a Bachelor of Commerce (Event Management) or Bachelor of Commerce (Travel and Tourism).
Deakin University Many Sydney TAFE diplomas and advanced diplomas are included in articulation pathways into various Deakin University bachelor degrees. Sydney TAFE Diploma of Visual Merchandising graduates can articulate into a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Creative Arts. Also, Sydney TAFE students who study a Diploma of Specialist Make-up may be able to articulate into the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Creative Arts. (This articulation will also be available through the Bachelor of Design delivered by the Raffles College of Design and Commerce.)
Australian Graduate Management Consortium, Charles Sturt University The Australian Graduate Management Consortium is a joint initiative of CSU and TAFE NSW. It offers you the opportunity to study a Graduate Certificate in Management or a Graduate Certificate in Organisational Change at St George College. The qualifications are awarded by CSU but the actual courses are delivered by Sydney TAFE.

The TPC pathway
Assessment occurs throughout the course. For most subjects, there are no final exams.
Sydney TAFE offers the Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC) course, which can help you develop the knowledge and skills you need for degree-level study.
If you study the TPC, you will have a number of choices about course make-up. Each subject involves four to six hours of study per week. Part-time evening students will be offered a range of electives, enabling them to complete the course over two to three years.
When you finish this certificate IV course, your study skills and knowledge will be at the level of someone who has finished Year 12/Higher School Certificate (HSC). You will be given a Tertiary Entrance Score (TES), which can be used instead of an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) when applying to study for a degree. This course is designed to help people learn to learn, so you should talk to someone at Sydney TAFE before you do this course so that the structure of the course is right for you. You may not have to study some subjects because of your study, work or life experience. The TPC learning environment at Sydney TAFE embraces people from all backgrounds, including mature students and those who have experienced barriers to learning. The skills you will develop during the TPC can change the direction of your life.
The TPC is recognised by: > universities > TAFEs > private colleges > government and private organisations, including the NSW public service > Australian Defence Force > NSW Police. It is strongly recommended that you make contact with education providers and the agencies above before studying the TPC to make sure arrangements and details are correct.
Individual timetables can be constructed to suit the needs of most students, including those with school-aged children. Remember that TAFE holidays correspond closely with primary and secondary school holidays.
All my life, at some level, I wanted an education. I wanted a degree. And now I am living it. I’m living the dream. I jigged school a lot and couldn’t sit still to do homework. So when I started the TPC, I was kind of nervous that it would be the same all over again. It wasn’t the same. After he “learnt to learn” at Sydney TAFE, Antony gained an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank of 99.3. After winning a 2012 State Medal for the highest marks in NSW, he started studying a physiotherapy degree at the University of Sydney. Antony Lowe TPC graduate Degree Pathways
