Foundation Program
Give your apprentice the right start
As an employer, you want your new apprentice to hit the ground running. The TAFE Queensland Foundation Program forms part of your apprentice’s training plan and is designed to ensure they are safe, skilled, and prepared for the challenges of the workplace.
In less than one week, your apprentice will gain valuable insights and build confidence in key areas such as WHS (Workplace Health and Safety), communication, and environmental sustainability.
Students will also undergo literacy and numeracy testing, which ensures that your apprentice receives the necessary support to achieve their career goals from day one.
Other benefits provided in their foundation training include the following:
• Connecting with experienced educators: Your apprentices will have the opportunity to engage with skilled teachers who bring industry experience and knowledge, fostering a strong learning environment
• Campus tours: Apprentices can explore the TAFE Queensland campus, familiarising themselves with the facilities and resources available to them, enhancing their comfort and readiness for training
• Training record: Apprentices will receive a detailed demonstration on the importance of their training record book, including its maintenance and purpose, ensuring they stay on target with their learning goals
• Peer networking: Apprentices will connect with fellow apprentices, building a supportive network that encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing
All TAFE Queensland apprentices will need to complete this foundation program prior to starting any stage one classes.
