Good News Story Llamau Learning 4 Life (L4L) Joe (not his real name) joined Learning 4 Life in July 2014. He had just returned to Cardiff a er having been moved out of County several years earlier for his own protec on. Joe moved into Llamau housing and didn’t know a single person. When I first met him he was very shy, wouldn’t make eye contact and wouldn’t speak to other young people. He would sit in the kitchen by himself and constantly want to leave early. Over me his confidence increased and then one day he came in and just sat in the main centre with the rest of the group. He now openly joins in discussions, will ask for help when needed and is very popular with the other young people. He regularly meets up with others in his free me. He is even volunteering one day a week at Pedal Power, helping to fix and test bikes. He has achieved E2 ESW qualifica ons in Applica on of Number, Communica on and ICT. He is now working towards E3 in all three as well. He has also achieved Agored Award in Health and Safety Awareness in the Workplace and working to‐ wards Internet Safety and Work Experience Agored. He has had help to produce a CV and has had mock interview expe‐ rience from which he received very posi ve feedback. He even had the confidence to be interviewed by ITV news about his circumstances. Joe has made huge steps in building his confidence and self‐esteem since engaging with L4L.

Stori Newyddion Da Llamau – Dysgu am Oes Ymunodd Joe (nid ei enw go iawn) â Dysgu am Oes ym mis Gorffennaf 2014. Roedd newydd ddychwelyd i Gaerdydd ar ôl symud allan o’r Sir flynyddoedd yn ôl er ei ddiogelwch ei hun. Symudodd Joe i lety Llamau heb adnabod unrhyw un yno. Pan wnes i gwrdd ag ef i ddechrau, roedd e’n swil iawn a ddim yn gallu siarad lygad yn llygaid na siarad â phobl ifanc eraill. Byddai’n eistedd yn y gegin ar ei ben ei hun ac eisiau gadael yn gynnar yn gyson. Gydag amser, datblygodd ei hyder ac un diwrnod daeth i mewn ac eistedd yn y brif ganolfan gyda gweddill y grŵp. Mae nawr yn ymuno mewn trafodaethau a bydd yn gofyn am gymorth pan fo angen ac mae’n boblogaidd iawn â’r bobl ifanc eraill. Mae’n cwrdd yn rheolaidd ag eraill yn ei amser rhydd. Mae hyd yn oed yn gwirfoddoli un diwrnod yr wythnos yn Pedal Power, yn helpu i drwsio a phrofi beiciau. Mae wedi cyflawni cymwysterau ESW E2 mewn Defnyddio Rhifau, Cyf‐ athrebu a TGCh. Mae nawr yn gweithio tuag at E3 yn y tri hefyd. Mae hefyd wedi cyflawni Dyfarniad Agored mewn Ym‐ wybyddiaeth o Iechyd a Diogelwch yn y Gweithle ac yn gweithio tuag at y Dyfarniad mewn Diogelwch ar y Rhyngrwyd a Phrofiad Gwaith. Mae wedi cael cymorth i greu CV ac wedi cael profiad o gyfweliadau ffug lle cafodd adborth cadarn‐ haol iawn. Magodd yr hyder i gael ei gyfweld gan ITV news am ei amgylchiadau. Mae Joe wedi gwneud cynnydd enfawr o ran magu hyder a hunan barch ers dechrau gyda Dysgu am Oes.
