SANWARWALA Architecture, as the world sees it, is not only about the construction of buildings or designing spaces. I believe Architecture is more about emotions and experiences. Each experience opens up new possibilities leading to infinite more possibilities.

CRADLE PROJECT: LOCATION: TYPOLOGY: CLIMATE: SITE AREA: BUILT-UP:
Pediatric Healthcare Center Sinhagad, Pune, India. Public Warm and Humid 4430 Sq.m 5080 Sq.m
Life expectancy has dramatically increased over the past few decades. One of the key players in this was the advancement of modern medicine and health care facilities. Health care centers have become critical pillars that support the health and welfare of millions of people around the globe. However, children below the age of 12-14, still require special care that may not be provided at a general hospital. A pediatric center plays an
10 | Cradle
important role in their lives. This health care center has been designed keeping in mind the anthropometry of a toddler. Healing Gardens, Play areas, emergency departments, parents counciling, etc. are all part of the design brief, The form of the building enables daylighting from all directions, creating a natural healing environment for the kids. Outdoor spaces are provided around the building as well.
SITE The site having a 3 sided road network provides easy access but gets affected by noise and traffic at the same time.
12 | Cradle
MASSING The symmetrical form of the building provides possibilities of multiple entrances while maintaining privacy.
LEVELS 3 different levels are designed for creating spill outs for each floor depending on the public areas within.
SPILLOUTS Top building block is pinched inwards from both sides to creating a spillout transition for terraces on different floors.
ENTRANCES Main entrance as well as emergency entrance is added on the front side of the building.
HEALING GARDENS & SKYLIGHT Healing gardens and skylight for atrium designed for natural healing and daylight savings.

WINGS PROJECT: LOCATION: TYPOLOGY: CLIMATE: SITE AREA: BUILT-UP:
Corporate Offices Bund Garden, Pune, India. Mixed-use (Commercial) Warm and Humid 6400 Sq.m 7620 Sq.m
The site being at the junction of two crowded roads of Pune invites a lot of traffic, both vehicular and pedestrian. The design incorporates not only a welcoming façade, but also a social interactive plaza that connects the building to the streets. The form of the building creates two identical wings that provide equal but mirrored environments to the occupants. The service core runs like a spine throughout the
22 | Wings
backside of the structure giving easy access to services for both wings of the building. The plaza in the front with cool reflective pavements and shaded seating, creates a social space that helps in promoting the commercial businesses on the ground floor while the green Trapezoidal slopes of grass create the perfect spot for relaxing and sunbathing in the bleak mid winter.
Wings | 23
BUILDING ORIENTATION The commercial facades are designed to face the main road for promoting business.
ADDING SERVICES Service block is added at the back side of the building.
ENTRANCE PODIUM Trapezoidal podium provides a large space to accomodate the crowd coming towards the commercial blocks.
BALCONY SPACES Centrally located balconies create break spaces and help in dissipating heat.
FACADE TREATMENT Alternating balconies gives an aesthetic appeal to the facade while inviting daylight at the same time.

GENKAN PROJECT: LOCATION: TYPOLOGY: CLIMATE: SITE AREA: BUILT-UP:
3BHK Bungalow Kondhwa, Pune, India. Residential Warm and Humid 1120 Sq.m 650 Sq.m
The design for the bunglow was originally inspired by the concept of Yin Yang from the Japanese philosophy. The house is divided into two major zones i.e. public and private. The circular area of the house accomodates all the public activities including workspace and home office for work from home routines. The remaining portion of the house on the eastern side houses the private spaces. The transition
34 | Genkan
between the two zones contains buffer spaces such as dining area and living room which creates a physical barrier while maintaining the visual line of sight. The landscaping around the house is inspired as well from the japanese landscapes and elements such as outdoor seating, fire pit, BBQ space, pargolas and lawns are give the backyard a coziness and privacy that one needs when organising parties.
