RIVERFRONT RESORT ‘A Radial abstract’ (Academic project)
Site location : Tourist complex, Agra, U.P. Site area : 16 acres
An abstractive design approach inspired by the flower of a ‘Dandelion’ seedhead characterizing ‘Biophilic design’ in its nature. The design is derived from the natural shape of the flower which depicts a central core that radially distributes its branches, each ending at an individual seedhead. This is mimicked by the service core at the center and the cottages at the ends of the radial branches. Similarly, the wooden deck extended to the line of the riverfront acts as the stem of the flower. The biophilia-inspired design is functional as well as aesthetic. The landscape is conformed according to the same geometry as when viewed from a distance, gives a surreal view of the site.

‘The essence of folklore’ (Academic project) Site location : Tourist complex, Agra, U.P. Site area : 16 acres
The inspiration of folklore tradition stems from every corner of the cottageinspired by the local art and keeping it as the main attraction; the materialism (wood + glass) exudes the traditional yet modern essence. Located at the tourist complex in Agra, the style celebrates the Indian heritage and the paint-finished dark hardwood with glazed skylight pay homage to the glorious Indo era.

RESIDENTIAL LANDSCAPE DESIGN The ‘Mughal’ concept (Academic project)
The landscape mimics a Mughal garden concept and forms a square geometry reflecting rhythm and symmetry & can be categorized under either of the Mughal styles named as ‘Hayat’ or ‘Char-Bagh’. The beautiful silk cotton tree is the center of attraction of the main front lawn area. There are garden spaces, pavements, & seating aligned along an axis creating voids in enclosed passageways thus eliminating negative spaces. The vegetation of the garden includes shade providing trees in crisp colors, fructiferous and ornamental trees, bushes, creepers, vines and flowers, especially roses & the beautiful Palms near the seating spaces. The overall design is conceptualized to provide the residents with a calm, relaxing and a welcoming aura.

‘Cultural Elegance rooted in Tradition’ (Thesis project) Site area : 8.6 acres Site location : Rishikesh, Uttarakhand
The project was converged on designing a space for 1000 people exhibiting all the basic requirements of a yoga and meditation center with some other additional facilities. The aim of the project was to design a space that provides for a person’s mental and physical wellbeing with maximum interaction with the natural world. A space that blends in with the natural environment and reflects tranquility and harmony in its architectural elements and form.

The concept is primarily based on the composition and arrangement of spatial geometries rendering composite shapes and structures that exhibit stability and spaciousness. For extensive yogic and meditative practices, the center requires convergent and divergent focusses for collaborative and isolated activities, respectively. The use of these geometries in combination with natural materials like wood, stone, glass, concrete, etc., will exude a sense of vast and relaxing atmosphere which will enhance and facilitate meditative & yogic practices.

All the landscape features are in harmony with one another. The use of soft pastel shades in hardscapes along with the natural shades of softscape constitutes a pleasant cultural space. It allows the visitors and customers to enjoy a wide variety of sensory experiences. The combination of these materials stimulates the senses. Sensory garden and water bodies have been provided at designated areas for individual and group meditation activities. Areas have been provided with wooden benches surrounded by lawns and hedges.

BEDROOM SUITE
MINIMAL + DRAMATIC – For a ‘State of the Art Aesthetics’ (Academic project)
Fabrics in gray accents, storage in monotones and pale whites – sing in perfect harmony to the tune of modernism. The calm the space evokes makes it ideal to relax and reflect in. The colors are delicate yet powerful, luxurious yet informed, defining a neutral story. The soothing color and lights gives a feeling of cool and calm. The floor to ceiling window lets in ample light during the day-time. Recessed ceiling lights, LEDs, pendant cones and table lamps gives the space an overall accentuated look and fulfills the requirement of accent lighting.
19

MEETING ROOM
(Internship project) Site : Mavenir Office Design, DLF Cyber City, Gurgaon-Haryana
The mix of grays and pale browns gives a high-end experience with delicate tones and luxuriant textures and transform the space into a sophisticated beauty; a contemporary minimalism blended with abstract décor. A sophisticated theme with a touch of modern elegance and luxury. The use of contrasting combination of bold colors and delicate tones such as heavy blues, grey accents with calming glossy whites gives a high-end experience. Dramatic wall graphics with mood lighting & the carpet tile texture with grey hues works well in contrast with the furniture elevating aesthetics of the room. False ceiling with cove lighting & suspended pendant lights accentuates the overall look.

CAFETERIA DESIGN
(Internship project) Site : Mavenir Office Design, DLF Cyber City, Gurgaon-Haryana
A Retro color scheme used to create a vintage feel complemented with distinctive characteristics. The use of various shapes in lighting as well as wall graphics, a combination of rough, smooth & glossy textures works as an expression of contradiction. The muted tones, yet dramatic, could help to work up an appetite and a great way to sit back and relax in a neutral embrace that transforms into a warm and congenial space. The finish of the countertops and glam lighting with bold abstract prints on the walls offers a clean canvas for sharing a medley of meals. Exposed brickwork on walls, wooden textures on columns, the metal grid ceiling hung from the top lined with linear LED lights, complemented with suspended circular pendants & wall sconces emphasizes the eating space. The interior is intended to exude a quiet and carefree energy, rendering a space that could make it ideal to relax and reflect in. 25
Layout plan
Area : 14 sq.m. Accommodation required : 12 PAX. Area per seated person : 0.25 sq.m
The above plans depict different layouts for the cafeteria to best accommodate 12 people along with sufficient walking and eating spaces. The enlarged plan towards the left is the finalized layout. Wall elevations are shown below with various material and lighting details.

RECEPTION
(Internship project) Site : Mavenir Office Design, DLF Cyber City, Gurgaon-Haryana
The color combination of blue and red was the base of the theme. The mix of warm and cool colors somewhat created a complementary theme. The color theme deliberately matches with the company logo to give the reception area a distinctive feel and idea of the brand and to make the clients or customers a reminisce of the place. These saturated warm colors (red) evoke a feeling of activity and passion. On the other hand, cool colors such as ‘blue’ is associated with calm, harmony and peace. The mix of these hues would influence the required emotions in a hectic workspace area. The ‘Red’ hue was reduced a bit because it captures attention and sometimes is too bright for the eye, therefore there is only a hint of it in some areas.
27
Wall elevation
The furniture was kept minimal with wooden textures for the reception desk. Most of the surfaces had a ‘reflective glossy finish’ which renders elegance and a sense of spaciousness. The lighting was integrated with a gypsum grid false ceiling for the reception. Recessed and pendent cone light fixtures for the desk and LED linear strip lights running along the edges patently.

WORKSTATIONS
(Internship project) Site : Mavenir Office Design, DLF Cyber City, Gurgaon-Haryana
The workstation area was supposed to be based on the main color theme. There were hints of warm and cool hues in different elements of the space such as the columns were cladded with ‘Blue dome’ glossed laminate with integrated LED strip lights to make them more prominent. Similarly the ‘Pure red’ hue was imbibed in the office chair fabric to make them stand out and match the theme. The base color was ‘Sonnet’ to create more spaciousness and visibility.
29
Layered with faint offwhite carpet tile, the floor gives a warm welcoming vibe to the employees. The dropped ceiling is a glowing cross-hatched pattern of LED lights illuminating the whole area. The long lines makes the space look even more free and accessible. One could see individual elements from far off. They also work as leading line all along the passages. The workstations are covered in glossy surfaces, easy to clean and work on. As a whole, the workspace meets the requirements of the color theme, circulation, and is efficient in terms of spaciousness, accessibility and visibility 30
GROUP HOUSING (academic project) Site location : Sector 128, Noida Site area : 24 acres
The overall design is somewhat the quarter form of a ‘Radial Dispersion’ of road networks that divides the site into 4 distinct zones with maximized use of green spaces. The residential blocks connect to the amenities through driveways & streets that radiate out from the entrance & concentrates at the very center. The zones are divided keeping in mind the notion of ‘Social stratification’ for various income groups. Building shape & orientation is to facilitate ‘interaction’ & ‘courtyard planning’ among the groups.

The zoning diagram represents placement of various major functional departments of a hospital & their connectivity among each other. The departments are placed such, so as to increase ease of access for visitors, patients and staff and to enhance inter-relationship among the departments. There are separate entries for the OPD, emergency and IPD wards, to avoid congestion & crowd during rush hours. The IPD and residence are placed in the north-east region of the site, where less noise levels are observed compared to other regions. Considering the solar path, OPD and IPD are given full exposure to have the advantage of natural daylight and sunlight, which is necessary for patient healing and care.
37
Ground floor plan The site has multiple access points and is provided with surface parking of 500 for two- & four- wheelers. • Separate basement parking ramp is also provided through a road that branches out near the OPD complex road. • The IPD block has a separate entry so as to minimize visitor traffic near OPD. • The hostel residence block has a separate road entry branching out from the main entry road. This can also serve as an access to IPD in case there is congestion within the main entrance. • The emergency unit has a whole separate entry towards the west with a 18 m wide road access for ambulance vans so that the ambulance does not have to face any restricted movement at the time of emergencies. This road further serves for the entry of doctors and staff parking. 5 Ambulance bays are provided near the emergency entrance for ease of transportation. It has its own diagnostic block, ORs and EMS care wards ; functioning as a ‘mini-hospital’ in itself. • The diagnostics & OT complex are connected to OPD and IPD through cantilevered corridors at intermediate floor levels. The OPD has direct access to diagnostics & IPD to OT. The OT block also has a connection with diagnostics. 38
