Taichung Train Station

Taichung Train Station is a railway station on the Taiwan Railway Administration (TRA) Western Line (Mountain Line) located in Taichung City, Taiwan. The station has one side platform and one island platform. The exterior wall is made from red bricks. The station was built in 1905, then expanded in 1917 in the Baroque Victorian architectural style. The Ministry of the Interior elevated it to a national historic site due to the historical and architectural significance of the train station.

Dakeng Scenic Area

Dakeng is a beautiful hiking area in Taichung. Trails #1 to #5 are located in the eastern and higher part of the scenic area. These are the steepest and most challenging trails. Trails #6 to #10 are on the western part of Dakeng, closer to the city and better served by public buses. Here the trails are easier, shorter and more suitable for everyone.

Moncoeur Moncoeur is Taiwan's first combination wedding and recreation park. Its name in French means “my heart”, so the beautiful garden in my heart is Moncoeur. People can take many beautiful pictures and walk around the garden. It has two areas, one is a celebration area and the other is a dating area. Dating area has some shops and restaurants where you can have a date. Many couples like to hold their weddings there.

Yichung Shopping Street

Yichung shopping street is near Taichung First Senior High School, Taichung University of Science and Technology, and Taiwan University of Physical Education. There are also a lot of restaurants, glasses stores, salons, and so on. It is very popular with high school and college students.

Green Corridor of Dong Feng

The Dong Feng bike corridor is almost 12 kilometers from Dongshih to Fengyuan. It can connect with the Hou Feng bike corridor which goes from Fengyuan to Houli. The total distance on the routes is 17 kilometers. Those bike corridors were converted from unused railways in Taiwan. It is a special experience to be able to ride a bicycle across the steel bridge and tunnel.

Fengyuan Night Market

This night market is the most famous in Fengyaun, located to the east of Ciji temple. It also called Miaodung night market. There are many famous foods, such as fried oyster, pineapple shaved ice, Qingshui rib noodles, spicy tofu, and so on. The night market attracts many students and tourists.

National Museum of Natural Science

The National Museum of Natural Science was founded on January 1, 1986. The Museum has two types of exhibitions: the permanent exhibits provide a historical foundation in the natural sciences. The temporary exhibits involve current scientific knowledge and concerns. The scope of the plan included establishing and maintaining a modern science museum for the people, for education and science. It welcomes more than 3 million visitors each year, as a unique educational opportunity available to people in Taiwan and visiting.

Calligraphy Greenway

Calligraphy Greenway is a new scenic spot here in Taichung City. It starts from the Science Museum and extends south all the way to the Art Museum. There are green trees and charming sceneries on both sides of the greenway; the total length of the path is 3.6 km.

The place has gathered so many people during weekends. In recent years, the Taichung City Government has hosted many festivals on the greenway, such as the world-class jazz festival in October.

Park Lane by CMP

It is a special building which is covered by green plants from the 1st floor to 3rd floor. It combines the humanities, arts, tourism and livability into a shopping center. There is a book store, many modern stores and restaurants. On weekends, you can see many people take a walk or play at the park lane with dogs.

Jingming 1st Street

Jingming First Street, or 'Tea Street' as it is most often called, is a specialized tourist area in Taichung. It combines the functions of shopping, recreation and art. No vehicles are allowed to enter the street and coffee shops provide outdoor seating. There are outdoor concerts or exhibition on holidays. The street was elected the model street in 1995 and it has become a popular tourist attraction in Taichung.

Tunghai University

Tunghai University was established in 1955 and it is located on the level plateau of Taichung’s Datu Mountain. Tunghai University, a liberal arts institution, is full of scholarly elites and abundant resources and is well-known for its beautiful campus. Taichung Metropolitan Park

Taiwan’s largest metropolitan park provides a leisure space. It is free to visit the park and use its facilities; however, there will be a charge if you wish to use its exhibition room or outdoor opera stage. Fengchia night market

Located in Taichung Xitun District next to Fengchia University, Feng Chia Night Market is the largest and most popular Taiwan night market in central Taiwan. It features all kinds of mouthwatering and innovative Taiwanese snacks as well as being a shopping paradise for fashionable clothing and accessories.

Maple Garden

Maple garden is a large detention pond park in Taichung City. It is a concave green landscape park, featuring a man-made lake, with multiple functions of detention, drainage, with a clever and exquisite design style, which is quickly becoming a famous emerging landmarks in Taichung City.

Changhua Train Station

The station was built in 1905. In order to show the Japanese building practices, the entrance is stamped with a Japanese roof form. In 1958, due to the expansion of the station, the original station was dismantled. It was converted into the new station made of concrete and has three-stories.

Lugang Mazu Temple

Lugang Mazu temple is a historical temple that one should not miss when visiting Lugang old town. The most famous part of the temple is “The Black-Faced Mazu” who has a black appearance from years of incense smoke that have covered over her original contrast.

Narrow Alley (Gentleman Alley) This is a long alley only 70 cm wide. It usually can let one person pass through, if two people meet, they must greet each other. National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts

National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts was built in 1988. It is the largest art museum in Asia and dedicated to the education and promotion of visual arts. It places great emphasis on collecting works by Taiwanese artists and exploring unique characteristics of modern and contemporary Taiwanese arts.

Taichung Municipal Cultural Center

Taichung Municipal Cultural Center was built in 1976. The land was donated by entrepreneur Mr. He Yong. It not only hosts art festivals and performances, but also offers a space for reading newspapers and magazines. Many art exhibitions are held here.

Summit Resort Summit Resort was built in 1995. It is located in Xinshe, Taichung that is belongs Dakeng Scenic Area. The place is also provides couples to take wedding photo. Lih Pao Land

Lih Pao land is an amusement park in Holiu, Taichung that it is divided into two theme parks.

Yuemei Tourism Sugar Factory

Yuemei Tourism Sugar Factory was built in 1909. That was built

during

Japan colonial period. On that day, it could make 800 tons sucrose one day. In 1999, it changed to tourism sugar factory and stops to make sucrose. Now, you can come here to learn about how to make sugar. The most important is that there has many different kinds of ice lollipop can try.

Park Lane by Splendor was built in 2012. It is near the National Museum of Nature Science and Kuang San Sogo. Kuang San Sogo was open in 1995. The store holds spirit of customer first to serve customers. Shing Kong Mitsugoshi

Shing Kong Mitsugoshi was built in Taichung’s Seventh Redevelopment Zone in 2000. One of characteristic in Shing Kong Mitsugoshi is that there floor plan is very clear. People can easily find which floor they want to go. On the tenth floor. Outside often holds some small exhibits, free for visitors. Outside, there is a fountain that children can play in on hot days. The place is good for shopping and having fun.

Top City

Top City was built in 2011. It is next door to the Shing Kong Mitsugoshi and near Taichung City Government. Top City is combined with fashion, entertainment and food. The most special part in Top city is food court. The food court is divided into four theme parks, Japan’s Tokugawa period, Europe’s Venice, Hollywood and old Taiwan. Top City is a good place for people to relax and enjoy different cultures.

Stock 20 Art Gallery

Stock 20 Art Gallery is in rear Taichung Train Station. It was old railway storage. Ministry of Culture rent this place and rebuilt it. In 2000, the place opened for people to visit and named Stock 20 Art Gallery. There has some exhibitions, artist’s studio and café. Confucius Temple

Confucius Temple was built in 1976. It is near Taichung Park and Yichung Shopping Street. The building is Sung Dynasty style. Confucius Temple is provides people hold some shows and exhibitions. Chung Yo department store

Chung Yo was built in 1992. That is the oldest department store in Taichung. The place divided into three parts. A,B and C buildings. There has the Eslite Bookstore in tenth and eleventh floors that is the first Eslite Bookstore branch in Taichung. The bookstore is very big that has 530 square meters. There has the most kind of books. The other special part in Chung Yo department store is that the restroom has different theme in every floor. When you go to restroom, you will feel very interesting. The place is good for relaxing and shopping.

Taichung Park

Taichung Park was built in 1900 and the oldest park in Taichung. It was also called “Zhangshan Park” and was built when Taiwan was under Japanese control period. In 1999, Taichung government listed it as a city historical site. In the middle of the park, there is a lake. People can rent row around boats and to admire the whole park. Taichung Park is a landmark in Taichung. A must see for Taichung.

Miyahara eye hospital

Miyahara eye hospital was built in 1927 that was Japanese colonial period. It is go through the 921 earthquake and typhoon’s attack. The building with an ace of destroyed. In 2010, the company Dawncake bought this building. The company maintains the exterior appearance. In interior, it becomes the places where can buy ice cream, drinks, chocolate, and other dessert. It is a good place for people who love dessert.

Mode Mall Mode Mall was opened in 2009. That is near Taichung Train Station. Mode Mall has a special part is that the entrance has high ceiling design. It is very spectacular and creative. Taichung Broadcasting Bureau

Taichung Broadcasting Bureau was built in 1935. It is Gothic and Romanesque building style. Many couples come here to take their wedding photo. Inside, people can learn how broadcasts were done during that period and learn about Taiwanese broadcast culture. People can come here to take many beautiful photos and walk around the building!

Natural way six arts cultural center The place was built in 1937. That is Japanese colonial period. On that day, the place is for Japanese police officer and government official to practice judo and kendo. Thought Taichung government repairs it. It named “Natural way six arts cultural center”. Dajia Jenn Temple

Dajia Jenn Temple was built in Qing Dynasty. It is a Mazu Temple. That is a third rank monument. The Mazu Temple is the most popular temple in Taichung. Every year, DaJia Jenn Temple will hold a holy pilgrimage in April. Millions of people will take DaJia Mazu to Chiayi’s Fenqtain Gong by walk. In this journey, it will through Changhua and Yunlin.
