Located in Chungking Mansion in Kowloon, Hong Kong, the Christian Action Centre of Refugees is moving toward a renovation of their office to provide refugees with better comprehensive support system which helps them live lives of hope, dignity and self-reliance.
Inspired by the idea of a home away from home, the Emerge(nce) Coworking office incorporates individual comfort and well-being by creating a new atmosphere of hope, safety and growth from the existing space. The Emerge(nce) highlights the multifunctionality of the office by implementing smart storage throughout all spaces and incorporating necessary office privacy without causing isolation. Communal spaces, such as lounge, kitchen and education rooms, serve as a place for learning and gathering. This transition from work to play provides CFR staffs and their clients (refugees) not only an effective & efficient office environment, but also a comfortable and pleasant relaxion environment.

Team Project with Isabel Durrego
Habitat for humanity is a non-profit organization that focuses on helping low-income, working families to build their owning affordable and energyefficient homes. In order to stray from commonly understand notion of second-hand shop, restore savannah is seeking a new renovation of their retail space by creating an inviting, transformative atmosphere that encourage customers to come inside and explore the store. The Restore suffers from poor organization system and poor circulation which are the major issues for losing their customers. The challenge was to design an unique showroom that elevate customer’s shopping interest. Shopping experience are enhanced through the layout element- a grid layout inspired by Savannah landscape-that meets functional needs. Branding and wayfinding signage assist with navigation for the first time or returning customer, which is crucial aspect in retail setting.

FROM THE LANDSCAPE The parti consists of two axes, the straight path serving as the main circulation path along which a majority of the spaces, and peripheral aisle was derived from the aerial view of Savannah where the city layout is designed in grid pattern. Savannah Grid System
Inspired by the Savannah historic square, the idea of laying the city out in a grid pattern with squares, which serves as gathering place. Creating a feeling of compression and release as customers enter under the mezzanine, continue through thresholds and into the expanse of the space. The dynamic transition from the showroom toward the centered open coffee shop is highlighted through distinct curving bamboo walls.

Individual Project
Teacher dormitory of Tungpu Elementary School is located at the foot of mountain Jude at an altitude of 1200 meters(39937 ft) above sea level. Therefore, providing access to quality education and expanding learning opportunities for the children in the remote area continues to be a major challenge. Issues with High teacher turnover rate and teaching shortage are the most prominent factors that accentuates this challenge. The project is to develop accessible housing for educators by providing a low cost solution that accommodates teachers regardless of salary. It is also to decrease teacher turnover rate by increasing teacher incentives that reduces or exempts housing administration fee and utilities fee. The essence of Embrace is to create a sense of belonging , providing a place where faculties have the best living quality.

First Place- National Food Forest Competition
The site is located in a middle of Hsinchu City, surrounding by high-rise buildings. The city is in subtropical marine zone where weather condition is partial high temperature, moisture and moderate rainfall. In recent years, the city affects from urban heat island (UHI) which is caused by tall buildings in close proximity by providing multiple surfaces for reflecting and absorbing sunlight. Additionally, these buildings work to block wind from flowing through the city. When wind cannot flow freely, convention cooling does not occur and air pollution is able to stagnate and increase.
The challenge is to reduce urban heat island effect by providing cooling effect. Adopting the concept of natural forest, they are resilient and high productive system that has existed for thousands of years. They do not need pesticides or chemical to ensure their yields, but rather exist in a constant flow of production and recycling. The food forest design highlights earth friendly system that system designs along the same principle as natural forest but with more of a focus on multipurpose plants and animals of direct benefit to humans. The design also provide solution to clean the air and absorb harmful airborne particles and gaseous pollutants.
WINDBREAK: The summer southwest monsoon will bring the western sea breeze to the land and may form the wind pressure effect. Therefore, windbreaks are set up in the southwest by high-to-low tree levels. The appropriate planting density can protect against strong winds and reduced the wind speed and strength. SOUNDPROF DESIGN: By planting medium arbors and shrubs to form a soundproof forest can block the sound of birds living in gars from the local residents.
FOOD FOREST LEVEL: The forest is divided into muti-level edible plants by height. Main composition: arbors - vines - shrubs - ground covers - rhizomes
WATER PURIFY SYSTEM: The flat green space allows rainwater to infiltrate into the ground. The natural water penetration method is a functional eco-permeable design used as the water retention design of the base. Through the design of the stream, the water is sterilized by sunlight exposure, removing pathogenic bacteria, parasites and other toxic substances in the water, and flow into the ecological pool in the last step. The ecological pool is filtered and precipitated by plants in the water that can obtain clean water sources by osmotic pressure and capillary phenomenon to form a natural water purification cycle.

Global Citizen Program (GCP) is an international department in Mingdao High school. It provides students with a balance education through extensive academic
and
co-curricular
opportunities.
Students
are
supported
and
encourage to explore a wide range of programs as we develop our skills in an environment of dynamic, engaging learning. GCP housing system is inspired by traditional England school housing system. The school is divided into subunits called “houses” and each student is allocated to one house at the moment of enrollment. Houses may compete with one another at sports and maybe in other ways, thus providing a focus for group loyalty. The design concept is to integrate eastern and western culture by accommodating four Chinese mythological creatures (4 gods) as symbols to represent each housing.
