ICE KING Ice King (real name Simon Petrikov) is a major character conceived, but no longer acting as, the main antagonist of Adventure Time. His typical crime would be to kidnap a princess and force her to marry him, which Finn and Jake would foil every time. As his name suggests, Ice King is also his title, announcing himself as King of Ice; the ruler of the Ice Kingdom. His magical abilities are contained in, and can be controlled with, his crown, and he is therefore powerless without it. His crown is also the cause of his loss of sanity and transformation into a wizard, though not a very good one, shown when Princess Bubblegum is possessed by the Lich, she says “The Ice Wizard is a weak fool.” Due to his poor mental health, he is often misunderstood, making him a tragic hero in some cases, such as in “Mortal Recoil” and “I Remember You.” Some time before the Mushroom War, he discovered the Enchiridion and bought the crown during his various expeditions around the world. Ice King’s gender-swapped character is the Ice Queen, as seen in “Fionna and Cake.”
fionna Fionna (previously spelled Fiona and also known as Fionna the Human) is a fictional character and the gender-swapped version of Finn who was created by the Ice King in his fan-fiction. In the real world, she was created by series character designer Natasha Allegri in a series of web comics and drawings. She and the other gender-swapped characters appeared occasionally in their own segment of the show. She is usually seen in the company of Cake, her own stretchy companion and also adoptive sister. Fionna’s nemesis is the Ice Queen. She is shown to have an attraction to Prince Gumball and a past with Marshall Lee. Ice King fantasizes about one day making her real and marrying her. While usually appearing as black dots, her eyes are seen as blue when enlarged. She wears a rabbit-themed hat (similar to Finn’s bear-themed hat) with exposed locks of blonde hair and also has teeth missing in a similar fashion to Finn. Unlike Finn, her neck and blonde hair are shown. When she is not wearing her hat, her hair goes down to between her knees and ankles. Her outfit includes a teal blue shirt with elbow-length sleeves, a dark blue skirt, and over-the-knee socks with two thin, light blue horizontal stripes at the top. Fionna is a heavier set than Finn (which Natasha referred to as “chubby cute”). Fionna is a fearless, thrill-seeking, adventure-loving hero who will rescue any prince from the Ice Queen or do any task to better herself or help citizens. She, much like Finn, is also very hard-headed as shown when Cake wanted her to date Prince Gumball and she was stubborn about.
cake Cake the cat is the gender- (and species-) swapped version of Jake the dog in the Ice King’s self-written fan-fictions, created by Adventure Time character designer Natasha Allegri. She features in the episodes “Fionna and Cake,” “Bad Little Boy,” and “The Prince Who Wanted Everything” and is mentioned by the Ice King in “King Worm” and “Mystery Dungeon.” Cake travels with Fionna, and Lord Monochromicorn is her boyfriend. She has Stretchy Powers and can morph her body just like Jake. As a cat, she also possesses the ability to see in the dark. The fur on her tail stands on the end (or “frizzes out”) when there is danger around or when she gets excited (e.g., when Lord Monochromicorn speaks to her). She doesn’t look much like Jake, aside from their body proportions. She has white eyes in which the black pupils become circular if surprised, excited, shocked, or scared. She has a cat muzzle and a small nose (compared to Jake’s), cat ears, white fur with many coffee colored spots, and a large, bushy tail. When Fionna and Cake race Prince Gumball and Cake runs up the mountain, she has claws on her front paws. In the Fionna and Cake miniseries, Cake’s eyes will go back to her original prototype blue color.[2] The episode opens with alternate versions of Finn and Jake, using gender swapped characters. Fionna and Cake are helping Prince Gumball decorate for the Biennial Gumball Ball when Prince Gumball asks Fionna if she would like to go to it tonight with him “as pals.” Their conversation is interrupted when Cake’s tail frizzes up, sensing incoming danger.
marshall lee Marshall Lee (full name: Marshall Lee the Vampire King[1]), is the gender-swapped version of Marceline, created by the original series designer, Natasha Allegri, who is featured in “Fionna and Cake.” In the episode, he is seen attending Prince Gumball’s Biennial Gumball Ball. Just like Fionna and others, Marshall Lee is from Ice King’s imagination, although Marceline was telling his story in “Bad Little Boy.” His skin appears to burn in sunlight in the episode, like most vampires’ and Marceline’s. He plays a major role in “Bad Little Boy,” attempting various ways to trick Fionna into admitting her love for him. Marshall Lee presumably has the same abilities as Marceline, as he was first seen floating. Some official artwork shows him eating the color red, just like Marceline, and sucks the pink from creme puff filling. In “Bad Little Boy,” he mentions “drinking the red from your heart in one sitting.” He can also sing and plays a guitar.[2] He can turn into a bat form, like Marceline, except he keeps his hair. Like Marceline, he can also raise the dead. He also appears to have the same rapid healing that Marceline has, as when the sun started to burn him, the burn vanished shortly after Cake blocked it from touching him. Marshall Lee has a slim body, an average height, black hair, and light gray skin. He has a matching permanent bite mark, longer sharp canines and pointed ears like Marceline, showing that he is a vampire. In Fionna and Cake and Bad Little Boy, he is seen wearing a red plaid shirt with gray stripes, dark blue jeans with turn-ups and brownish-red and white sneakersof.
prince gumball Prince Gumball is the gender-swapped version of Princess Bubblegum. He was originally created after the gender-swapped characters were introduced in series of drawings and comics, and then they were featured in the season 3 episode “Fionna and Cake,” in which it is revealed that the characters only exist in fanfiction written by the Ice King. Like Princess Bubblegum, Prince Gumball also has his own loyal companion, Lord Monochromicorn. Just as Princess Bubblegum can understand Lady’s Korean, Prince Gumball can understand Lord Monochromicorn’s Morse code. Prince Gumball has shown romantic feelings for Fionna, but that was actually the Ice Queen in disguise. However, the real Prince Gumball also shows feelings for Fionna and had actually asked her out on a date. Prince Gumball has the same color scheme as his female counterpart. He has pink skin and his hair is somewhat in a coiffe. His head is adorned with a small golden crown and a blue jewel. He wears a hot pink shirt with the top being purple along with light pink puffed sleeves and magenta slits. He also has magenta under-sleeves (accompanied by dark-pink sleeve cuffs) and a large matching collar with a small blue jewel inside a gold crest on it. Unlike his female counterpart, hare shown as purple.
