Lead wires are laminated into multiple layers of spiders for long term durability……plus a bunch of super-secret tricky stuff that we can’t divulge. Although speakers can be broken down to all their various parts, and features can be described, explained and analysed, a speaker is more than the sum of its parts. A speaker, or any product, is an idea or concept brought to life by someone or some company. That idea or concept is shaped by the elements that go into it, each contributing to the total performance. Much like a high performance engine, one performance feature helps another, which in turn helps another. The cumulative effect is more important than any singular component. DD speakers are developed with their enclosures for an intended application. The speaker and enclosure form a system, so they should be designed and developed together for optimum performance. SW6.5 Series The SW6.5 is dynamite in a small package. This is a true 6.5" sub woofer, perfect for those space-challenged installs that still demand a big sound. The SW6.5 is built in the USA with the same materials as our 9500 Series, same high temperature coil and spider materials. The EROM surround yields over 2 inches of throw cooled by the Free Flow Cooling System found in its 9500 Series big brother. M1c Monoblock The M1 enters the "c" version, our most popular amp in its 4th generation. X1 and X1.1 Series The X1 and X1.1 active crossovers are your 1 piece solution to a myriad of multiple amplifier applications. These active crossovers combine a 7 Volt line drive output, complex crossover design capability with absolute high fidelity in the most compact use of space possible. The front and rear panels are so jam packed with stuff that we couldn't fit any more stuff, but we did get the whole 4-way stereo crossover which includes 7 individual 24dB/oct filters into a 1/2 DIN package. CS 6.5 Series The tweeter side of the DDCS comp set is our new DDT2, a 25mm, ultra-light diaphragm tweeter. This new diaphragm is less than 0.003 of an inch think; that's almost nothing of a mm. This proprietary fabric is so thin its virtually see through, well, actually it is see through. The ultra-light dome is coupled to a low-distortion, neo motor with flush/surface mounting hardware and metal grill options. The 2-way crossover features low distortion coils and metalized polypropylene caps that pass the source without degradation. CXS 6.5 Series The tweeter side of the new coax is our new T1, a compact design, 25mm polymer dome tweeter. This thin mount tweeter uses a high energy neo magnet system to deliver high sensitivity in size constrained applications. The diaphragm material is a rigid polymer formed into a convex/concave shape to increase geometric strength while reducing mass. The phase plug equalizes the frequency response while improving off axis output. The tweeter is crossed over with an audio-grade, metalized polypropylene capacitor. CX 6x9 Series The CXS-6x9 utilizes the shallow mount techniques from the CS component line to produce full size sound from a compact structure. We start with a precise CnC machined magnet gap with shorting ring produces high flux and low distortion. The high temperature copper voice coil is bonded to an aluminium former for high heat dissipation away from the wire. A CS type pressed paper cone with applied acoustic treatment allows a slim profile with high strength and midrange accuracy. The tweeter is the same ultra-light 25mm fabric dome from the CS component set, crossed over with polypropylene film capacitor. The CXS-6x9 is designed with the same exotic features as esoteric separates in a slim package that fits just about any OEM vehicle and at a price that fits any enthusiast's budget. DD-AT28 Series The DD-AT28 is a wide-band tweeter with a 28mm coil diameter. It uses two rear chambers, one behind the voice coil and a second milled aluminium chamber behind the motor. Shorting rings are used in the motor to flatten the impedance curve and wick away heat from the coil windings. The proprietary fabric dome has a range extending 10,000Hz past the hearing capability of the human ear. Countless hours of listening have been done to "tune" this tweeter via each part, glue joint and assembly step. The result is a most listenable tweeter which will show you new details you hadn't known possible.
