Accounts From Antiquity
Catastrophic events which unfolded long ago, and the signs which preceded them, were documented by previous civilizations. Folklore from nearly every culture on earth tell the same story, each one corroborating the next. Moreover, most of these ancient accounts have been validated by newly discovered evidence of extreme earth changes that occurred during the same time period. Modern science confirms that many of the cataclysmic events depicted in ancient writings occurred just as they were described. Remnants of entire civilizations are still around to this day, Great cities that were reduced to rubble in Earth-shattering events have been found all over South America, Egypt, Europe, Asia, and on the seafloor off the coasts of several of today's Continents.

Mankind had to endure almost every natural disaster Mother Nature could throw and it. These events were epic in scale, and every living thing on this planet was effected by it. Because of the sheer magnitude of these events, they were often attributed to the physical manifestation of God's wrath, and the form it always took was that of a red star. Ancient testimony indicates that a particular sequence of events unfolded prior to the catastrophes that befell the Earth in the distant past. • • • • • • •
The appearance of a red star. A wobble in the Earth’s rotation and a tilt of it’s axis. A halted rotation. A dramatic increase in seismic and volcanic activity. A reddening of the Earth. Bombardment of comets. A pole shift.
First Sighting Per the Kolbrin a strange star appeared in the heavens, described as having horns and accompanied by other celestial bodies. Creation 4:5 Then ... God caused a sign to appear in the Heavens, so that men should know the Earth would be afflicted, and the sign was a strange star.

The winged disc is one of the most ancient and frequently used symbols that you will find in the recorded history of human civilization. Ancient artifacts depicting this symbol have been discovered on every continent and the winged globe is known as a legend in many cultures.
References to a winged Sun are even found in The Old Testament: Book of Malachi 4:2 But for you who fear my name the Sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. Book of Ruth 2:12 The Lord recompense you for what you have done, and a full reward be given you by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge. Psalms 91:4 He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. Just as with the Kolbrin, the approach of a new star is also found in the Old Testament: Book of Isaiah 13:1 From a far away land they came, from the end-point of Heaven do the Lord and his weapons of wrath come to destroy the whole Earth. Therefore, will I agitate the Heaven and Earth shall be shaken out of its place. When the Lord of Hosts shall be crossing, the day of his burning wrath. coming from a distant place. Something else to take note of is the wording... "The Lord of Hosts shall be crossing..." I find that interesting considering that the Sumerian word "Nibiru" translates to "the planet of crossing". This verse is a description of the star and its entourage of satellites approaching from the distance. Continuing onto the star's physical appearance: Book of Job 41 18Its snortings throw out flashes of light; its eyes are like rays of dawn. 19Burning lamps go forth from its mouth, and sparks of fire leap out. 20Smoke goes forth from its nostrils as from a boiling pot or cauldron. 21Its breath sets coals ablaze, and flames go forth from its mouth. The same celestial objects are described in the Book of Revelation, with the primary object again being described as having horns: Book of Revelation 12 1And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars. 2And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. 3And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Recorded in Pliny's Natural History of the World as a blazing comet: A terrible comet was seen by the people of Ethiopia and Egypt, to which Typhon, the king of that period, gave his name; it had a fiery appearance and was twisted like a coil, and it was very grim to behold; it was not really a star so much as what it might be called a ball of fire. This comet is also mentioned in Abraham Rockenbach's De Cometis Tractus Novus Methodicus (1602): In the year of the world 2453 (1495 BC) -- as many trustworthy authors, on the basis of many conjectures, have determined -- a comet appeared which Pliny also mentioned in his second book. It was fiery, of irregular circular form, with a wrapped head; it was in the shape of a globe and was of terrible aspect. It is said that King Typhon ruled at that time in Egypt ... Certain authorities assert that the comet was seen in Syria, Babylonia, India, in the sign of Capricorn, in the form of a disc, at the time when the children of Israel advanced from Egypt toward the Promised Land, led on their way by the pillar of cloud during the day and by the pillar of fire at night. A similar description of the star is found in the Kolbrin: Book of Manuscripts 5:1 It twisted about itself like a coil. It was not a great comet or a loosened star, being more like a fiery body of flame. See Also: The Destroyer And again in Revelation, but this time it is given a name - Wormwood: Book of Revelation 8:10-11 10The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the water, because it had been made bitter. Hevelius (1668), using references from a work by Rockenbach, wrote in Cometographica: In the year of the world 2453 (1495 B.C.E.) according to certain authorities, a comet was seen in Syria, Babylonia, India, in the sign Jo, in the form of a disc, at the very time when the Israelites were on their march from Egypt to the Promised Land. Rockenbach (1602) himself has the following to say: In the year of the world two thousand four hundred and fifty-three - as many trustworthy authors, on the basis of many conjectures, have determined - a comet appeared which Pliny also mentioned in his second book. It was fiery, of irregular form, with a wrapped head; it was in the shape of a globe and was terrible of aspect. It is said that King Typhon ruled at that time in Egypt ... Certain [authorities] assert that the comet was seen in Syria, Babylonia, India, in the sign of
Capricorn, in the form of a disc, at the time when the children of Israel advanced from Egypt toward the Promised Land, led on their way by the pillar of cloud during the day and the pillar of fire at night.
Signs in the Heavens Earth Wobble & Halted Rotation Described as "signs in the heavens", the sudden unpredictable motions of the Sun, Moon and stars is one of the last events to occur before the pole shift. In reality, it is not the heavenly bodies which have changed their course but rather, an extreme wobble developed in our planet's rotation. The Kolbrin states that we will see stars behave in a manner which we are not used to and that the skies will be lit red: Book of Manuscripts 3:3 When ages pass, certain laws operate upon the stars in the Heavens. Their ways change; there is movement and restlessness, they are no longer constant and a great light appears redly in the skies. Which is echoed in the Book of Enoch: Book of Enoch Chapter LXXX 4And the moon shall alter her order, and not appear at her time. 5And in those days the sun shall be seen and he shall journey in the evening on the extremity of the great chariot in the west And shall shine more brightly than accords with the order of light. 6And many chiefs of the stars shall transgress the order. And these shall alter their orbits and tasks, And not appear at the seasons prescribed to them. 7And the whole order of the stars shall be concealed from the sinners, And the thoughts of those on the earth shall err concerning them, [And they shall be altered from all their ways], Yea, they shall err and take them to be gods. As well as in the Book of Isaiah: Book of Isaiah 24:20 The earth reels to and fro like a drunkard...it sways like a hut. Book of Isaiah 24:1 Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof. According to the Papyrus Ipuwer, while the world was in upheaval, it "turned around":
Papyrus Ipuwer 2:8 Forsooth, the land turns round as does a potter's wheel. Given a strong rotational impetus, they hold upright, and do not tip over until drag causes the toy to slow down, but while slowing to a stop and falling to one side, the top develops a distinct wobble. The reasons for this can hardly be in dispute. The top is not evenly balanced, even when appearing to be upright and poised on a needle point. It is the rotation that maintains this appearance, as any lopsided weight or drag on the ball portion of the top is distributed evenly and quickly on all sides. When the top starts to slow down, this distribution is delayed, and leaning to the side starts. The heavy part of the ball is slung to the side but as the rotation of the top brings this to the opposite side of the ball, there is a lurch of the top to that direction. The top is seen, while still spinning, lurching from one side to the other, until this lean is accentuated enough, and the rotation of the top slow enough, that the top simply falls over on its side. The analogy, of the death of a spinning top, equates to the description of what an Egyptian scribe recorded during the last pole shift, during the time of the Jewish Exodus. Clay on a potter’s wheel is lopsided from the start, and as the potter starts to molds it, it is seen reeling around from one side of the wheel to the other. What was that scribe seeing, for this description to apply? He was not seeing the Sun too far to South on a regular basis, morning and night. That would have inspired a statement akin to ‘Forsooth, the Sun hides in the South’. He was not seeing the Sun crossing at an odd angle on a regular basis, from morning to night. That would have inspired a statement akin to ‘Forsooth, the Sun retires early as it has risen early’. For the Earth to be predicted, in the Bible, to reel like a drunkard, this is a noticeable effect, during a short period of time, the passage of hours. Described in the Old Testament as the sun moving backwards: Book of Isaiah 38:8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down. There is an account of a day which lasted twice as long when the Israelite Joshua commanded the Sun to stand still in the sky. See Also: The Long Day of Joshua Book of Joshua 10 12Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:13Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge upon their enemies. Now that's not quite how it happened (at least I don't think it is), but there are in fact, several other accounts from a various cultures that corroborate the lengthy day. Per Velikovsky in Worlds in Collision:
It has been noted that this description of the luminaries implies the sun was in the forenoon position. The Book of Joshua says that the luminaries stood in the midst of the sky. Allowing for the difference in longitude, it must have been very early morning or night in the Western Hemisphere. We go to the shelf where stand books with the historical traditions of the aborigines of Central America. The sailors of Columbus and Cortes, arriving in America, found there literate peoples who had books of their own. Most of these books were burned in the sixteenth century by the Dominican monks. Very few of the ancient manuscripts survived, and these are preserved in the libraries of Paris, the Vatican, the Prado, and Dresden; they are called codici, and their texts have been studied and partly read. However, among the Indians of the days of the conquest and also of the following century there were literary men who had access to the knowledge written in pictographic script by their forefathers. In the Mexican Annals of Cuauhtitlan—the history of the empire of Culhuacan and Mexico, written in Nahua-Indian in the sixteenth century—it is related that during a cosmic catastrophe that occurred in the remote past, the night did not end for a long time. The biblical narrative describes the sun as remaining in the sky for an additional day (“about a whole day”). The Midrashim, the books of ancient traditions not embodied in the Scriptures, relate that the sun and the moon stood still for thirty-six itim, or eighteen hours, and thus from sunrise to sunset the day lasted about thirty hours. In the Mexican annals it is stated that the world was deprived of light and the sun did not appear for a fourfold night. In a prolonged day or night time could not be measured by the usual means at the disposal of the ancients. In China at the time of the miracle is said to have happened that the sun during a span of ten days did not set, the forests were ignited, and a multitude of abominable vermin was brought forth. H. Rimmer writes in The Harmony of Science and Scripture: In the ancient Chinese writings there is a legend of a long day. The Incas of Peru and the Aztecs of Mexico have a like record, and there is a Babylonian and a Persian legend of a day that was miraculously extended. Another section of China contributes an account of the day that was miraculously prolonged, in the reign of Emperor Yeo. Herodotus recounts that the priests of Egypt showed him their temple records, and that there he read a strange account of a day that was twice the natural length. From India is the legend of Matanga: He accepted the challenge boldly and did not leave the place. He instead demonstrated his power by stopping the sun to rise for seven days. The people then got annoyed with the brahmin, because he had insulted Matanga, who in turn had stopped the sun-rise.” (deviation with the number of days, but it is cited in some articles). French classical scholar, Fernand Crombette, translated some Egyptian hieroglyphics which tell of Joshua’s long day. The text starts out with an edict from the king to exempt from taxation those who had been victims of a flood some two weeks earlier. Evidently the flood had been caused by an unusually high tide. The cause, according to the Egyptian hieroglyphics, was:
The sun, thrown into confusion, had remained low on the horizon, and by not rising had spread terror amongst the great doctors. Two days had been rolled into one. The morning was lengthened to one-and-a-half times the normal period of effective daylight. A certain time after this divine phenomenon, the master had an image built to keep further misfortune from the country. Hephaistos...grant protection to your worshipers. Prevent the words of these foreign travelers from having any effect. They are impostors. Let these enemies of the sacrifices to the images be destroyed in the temples of the great gods by the people of all classes. Make life harder for these cursed worshipers of the Eternal. Punish them. Increase the hardships of these shepherds. Reduce the size of their herds. Burn their dwellings. Rameses, our celestial ancestral chief; you who forced these wretched people to work, who ill-treated them, who gave them no help when they were in need: cast them into the sea. They made the moon stop in a small angle at the edge of the horizon. In a small angle on the edge of the horizon, the sun itself, which had just risen at the spot where the moon was going, instead of crossing the sky stayed where it was. Whilst the moon, following a narrow path, reduced its speed and climbed slowly, the sun stopped moving and its intensity of light was reduced to the brightness at daybreak. The waves formed a wall of water against the boats that were in the harbor and those that had left it. Those fishermen that had ventured onto the deck to watch the waves were washed into the sea. The tide, which had risen high, overflowed into the plains where the herds were grazing. The cattle drowned represented half the herds of Lower Egypt. The remains of abandoned boats broken against the sides of the canals were piled up in places. Their anchors, which should have protected them, had been ground into them. Quite out of control, the sea had penetrated deep into the country. The expanding waters reached the fortified walls constructed by Rameses, the celestial ancestral chief. The sea swept around both sides of the region behind, sterilizing the gar dens as it went and causing openings in the dikes. A great country had been turned into a wilderness and brought into poverty. All the crops that had been planted had been destroyed and heaps of cereal shoots lay scattered on the ground.
The Red World One of the most epic events of the Old Testament can be found in the Book of Exodus when Moses casts his rod into the Nile River, turning it into blood: Book of Exodus 7:19 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone. It’s truly a fantastic story but the thing is - it never really happened. Not in a literal sense, anyway. There was however, a reddening of the earth and this event was documented by several different cultures. That these separate accounts are nearly identical serves as evidence that these people were all witnessing the same event unfold. In each account, this is the last event to unfold before the peak of the cataclysms.
Book of Revelations 6:12 "I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red Book of Revelations 16:4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of waters; and they became blood. Book of Exodus 7 20All the waters that were in the river were turned to blood. 21There was blood throughout all the land of Egypt. 2 Esdras 5:5 And blood shall drop out of wood, and the stone shall give his voice, and the people shall be troubled Ipuwer, the Egyptian eyewitness to the catastrophe, wrote his lament on papyrus: Papyrus Ipuwer 2: 5-6 5Plague is throughout the land. 6Blood is everywhere. Papyrus Ipuwer 2:10 The river is blood. In the Holy Quran we are told that a final sign before the Great Resurrection will be a red sky. Qur'an 55:3535There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke and you will not defend yourselves 36So which of the favors of your Lord will you deny? 37And when the Heavens split open and becomes rose colored like oil. 38So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 39Then on that day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn. In Siberia, the Voguls record: God sent a sea of fire upon the earth...The cause of the fire they call 'the fire-water.' Cicero [De Div., ii. 27] tells us that word was brought to the Roman Senate, on one occasion, that it had rained blood, and that the River Atratus had flowed with blood. Although there are mentions of the Destroyer all throughout the Kolbrin, there four chapters that go into chilling detail when describing the events which unfolded when it appeared in the skies during the last pole shift.
The Kolbrin tells us: Manuscripts 3:4 When blood drops upon the Earth, the Destroyer will appear and a great light appears redly in the skies . The Heavens will burn brightly and redly, there will be a copper hue over the face of the land. It goes without saying that the Sun did not turn into blood. Neither did the Moon, nor the skies, and the Rivers didn't either. It's easy to draw those conclusions but what isn't so easy is determining what event could have unfolded on a global scale, which would be described in such a way by so many people. The same exact metaphor was used by several different cultures - the rivers of the land (along with other things in nature) had "turned to blood". 70 years ago Immanuel Velikovsky was ridiculed for proposing an explanation for this event in his book Worlds in Collision, but in recent years his once outlandish ideas have proved themselves to be not only plausable, but likely. With the exception of a few aspects, Dr. Velikovsky's take on things were almost entirely in sync with the current Planet X theory. Whereas Dr. Velikovsky proposed the notion that a reddening of the Earth occurred when our planet traveled through the tail of "comet Venus" (Velikovsky believed that in antiquity Venus was ejected from it's original orbit, and came into close contact with the Earth during it's transit to the established orbit is has today).
“One of the first visible signs of this encounter was the reddening of the earth's surface by a fine dust of rusty pigment. In sea, lake, and river this pigment gave a bloody coloring to the water. Because of these particles of ferruginous or other soluble pigment, the world turned red." - Immanuel Velikovsky in Worlds in Collision According to Velikovsky, as "comet Venus" moved closer, the Earth found itself deeper and deeper within the tail, and the material entering the atmosphere became progressively more coarse. At first a fine dust fell from the sky, then a "small dust" which turned into debris pelting the Earth's surface. Book of Exodus 9:9 And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the lands of Egypt. Found in the ancient Buddhist text, the Visuddhi-Magga: When a world cycle is destroyed by wind...first it raises a fine dust, and then coarse dust, and then fine sand, and then coarse sand, and then grit, stones, up to boulders as large as the peak of a pagoda.
More from Velikovsky: Madras Tanhuma, Midrash Psikta Raboti, Midrash Wa-Yosha state that naphtha, together with hot stones, poured down upon Egypt. 'The Egyptians refused to let the Israelites go, and He poured out naphtha over them, burning blains [blisters].' It was a 'stream of hot naphtha.' (Naphtha is petroleum in Aramaic and Hebrew.) As larger and larger meteorites rained down, the Egyptians became increasingly more terrified by the great explosion-like noises which the meteorites made: Book of Exodus 9:28 Intreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer. In the Book of Joshua it is said that "great stones" fell from the sky, and then they are referred to as "stones of barad." The Mexican Annals of Cuauhtitlan describe how a cosmic catastrophe was accompanied by a hail of stones; in the oral tradition of the Indians, too, the motif is repeated time and again: In some ancient epoch the sky "rained, not water, but fire and red-hot stones," which is done different from the Hebrew tradition. In addition to the meteorites, a sticky, burning fluid apparently also fell to Earth. Some of it ignited, consuming everything it touched. Some of it collected in pools or fissures, or floated on the surface of the water. The substance came from the atmosphere of the comet when it passed close enough to combine with Earth's atmosphere. Evidence from ancient cultures all over the world establishes that a sticky, burning fluid was associated with the encounter. Velikovsky maintained that this fluid was in the nature of naphtha, a highly flammable hydrocarbon compound. Per Velikovsky: Crude petroleum is composed of two elements, carbon and hydrogen. The inorganic theory (of the origin of petroleum states that) hydrogen and carbon were brought together in the rock formations of the earth under great heat and pressure. The tails of comets are composed mainly of carbon and hydrogen gases. Lacking oxygen, they do not burn in flight, but the inflammable gases, passing through an atmosphere containing oxygen, will be set on fire, binding all the oxygen available at the moment. The descent of a sticky fluid which came earthward and blazed with heavy smoke is recalled in the oral and written traditions of the inhabitants of both hemispheres. From the ancient Mayan text, the Manuscript Quiche: There descended from the sky a rain of bitumen and of a sticky substance...The earth was obscured and it rained day and night. And men ran hither and thither and were as if seized by madness; they tried to climb to the roofs, and the houses crashed down; they tried to climb the trees, and the trees cast them far away; and when they tried to escape in caves and caverns, these were suddenly closed.
And again: It was ruin and destruction...the sea was piled up...it was a great inundation...people were drowned in a sticky substance raining from the sky...The face of the earth grew dark and the gloomy rain endured days and nights...And then there was a great din of fire above their heads. In addition to the volatile, voluminous quantities of flammable gases entered Earth's atmosphere and, mixing with the oxygen, exploded when ignited. Some explosions occurred high in the atmosphere while others occurred at ground level, creating a tremendous holocaust in some places. This phenomenon implies that the atmosphere of the "comet Venus" contained large amounts of flammable hydrocarbons, an issue still hotly debated in scientific circles. Recent discoveries indicate that some planets and moons in the solar system possess high concentrations of methane and other, more complex, hydrocarbon compounds in their atmospheres. The aboriginal tribes of the East Indies state that "water of fire" rained from the sky; "with very few exceptions, all men died.” In the Annals of Cuauhtitlan, we are told of an "age which ended in the rain of fire.” The ancient tribes of Finland also recall a time when `hailstones of iron’ fell from the sky and `the land was covered with blood’. The Tartars of Central Asia remember a great conflagration that was preceded by a `rain of blood’ that turned the whole world red. The Chinese refer to the periodic arrival of this celestial object as the terrifying return of the `Red Dragon’, and say that once it appears, there is no distinction between day and night - and the world is enveloped by heat, smoke, and fire”. From Worlds in Collission: In the middle of the second millennium before the present era, the earth underwent one of the greatest catastrophes in its history. A celestial body ... came very close to the earth. The account of this catastrophe can be reconstructed from evidence supplied by a large number of documents. The comet .. touched the earth first with it's gaseous tail. .. Servius wrote, "It was not of a flaming but of a bloody redness." [Note the middle of the second millennium BC is approximately 3,500 years ago.] As an immense red object passes between the sun and the Earth it develops a huge tail - similar to that of a comet but much more lethal. As the tail sweeps across the earth, a rain of `red dust’ and `fire’ falls from the sky, causing a conflagration to envelope the earth. The `red dust’ makes the Moon turn red, turns water to `blood’, and makes it look as if `blood’ had enveloped the land. As the object quickly passes the Earth, its large gravitational effects cause the rotation of our planet to momentarily stop, making the stars, sun and moon appear as
motionless in the sky. As this object continues to pass the earth, the gravitational effect ultimately causes a complete shift of our planet’s axis of rotation—thus making the stars, sun and moon appear as if they are now moving strangely in the sky, where in reality the earth is moving—not the sky. Dr. Velikovsky's theory was flawed in that the heavenly body with which Earth had a close encounter, was not "comet Venus", but rather, a brown dwarf. He can not be faulted, however, because at the time astronomers weren't even aware they existed. BROWN DWARFS are "sub-stellar objects" and are commonly referred to as "failed stars" because they never achieved nuclear fusion during it's formation. They are much cooler than normal stars, and don't shine like normal stars either. Brown dwarfs only emit radiation in the infrared spectrum, making them practically invisible, giving astronomers great difficulty in finding them. Unless one is reflecting visible light from a nearby star, brown dwarfs are nearly impossible to see. When they do reflect visible light, they appear red in color. A signature characteristic of a brown dwarf is the massive cloud of iron oxide dust that swirls around it, left over from it's formation. This type of dust would certainly be capable of reddening the entire Earth if enough of it entered our atmosphere. In fact, there is solid evidence that suggests in recent years we have in fact, been receiving light dustings. See Also: Brown Dwarfs – Failed Stars of the Universe Explained
The Day of the Lord Pole Shift At the climax of the cataclysms, that the so-called "children of Israel" were reaching the shore facing the Egyptian host that had come in their pursuit during the Exodus. Whatever the Pillar of cloud was that they were following, it would have appeared to have been central to the cataclysmic conditions harrying the globe. W. Phythian Adams, The Call of Israel : Of all the mysterious phenomena which accompanied the Exodus, this mysterious Pillar seems the first to demand explanation.
Book of Enoch Chapter LXIV 1In those days Noah saw that the earth became inclined, and that destruction approached. 2And he said, “Tell me what is transacting upon earth; 3for the earth labours, and is violently shaken. Gaius Julius Solinus, a Latin author of the third century, wrote of the Egyptians: The inhabitants of this country say that they have it from their ancestors that the sun now sets where it formerly rose. From the earlier works of Pomponius Mela, a Latin author from the first century: The Egyptians pride themselves on being the most ancient people in the world. In their authentic annals ... one may read that since they have been in existence, the course of the stars has changed direction four times, and that the sun has set twice in that part of the sky where it rises today. The Kolbrin also states that the Sun's path in the sky has changed in the past: Book of Manuscripts 33:5 Four times the stars have moved to new places and twice the sun has [appeared to] change the direction of his journey. Described in Islamic literature, from the Kitab al Irshad, The Twelfth Imam: The rising of the Sun from the West one of the things, which must happen, ... Between the decline of the Sun (at noon) and the time of the afternoon prayer, the Sun will remain still. Again from Islamic literature, this time found in the Islamic Hadiths: The Hour will not be established until the Sun rises from the West. Look at that time for a violent wind, an earthquake, being swallowed up by the earth, pelting rain, and signs following one another like bits of a necklace falling one after the other when its string is cut. The Maori people narrate that amid a stupendous catastrophe 'the mighty winds, the fierce squalls, the clouds, dense, dark, fiery, wildly drifting, wildly bursting,' rushed on creation ... and swept away giant forests and lashed the waters into billows whose crests rose high like mountains. 'The earth groaned terribly, and the ocean fled.' Evidence of the catastrophe is readily available in the psalms and other parts of the Scriptures: Book of Exodus 9 23And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt. 24So there was
hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. Psalms 18 7The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook;they trembled because he was angry. 8Smoke rose from his nostrils;consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it. 9He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet. Psalms 46:6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. Book of Revelation 8 1When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. 3Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. 5Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake. 6So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. 7The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up. 8Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 9And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. 10Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter. 12Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night. 13And I looked, and I heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, “Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound. Psalms 18 13At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire. 14The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire. Because the Old Testament translators chose the word 'hail,' we mistakenly envision a great icy hailstorm akin to those we encounter today. But Velikovsky pointed out that the word 'barad' in the original Hebrew text would have been more correctly translated 'meteorites.' He noted that according to
Midrashic and Talmudic sources, the hail of the Exodus was hot. This description more nearly fits meteorites thatn it does a hail of ice. See: The Holy Bible Through a King James Filter Psalms 148:8 Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word. Book of Revelations 8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. Book of Isaiah 13:4-5 4The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle. 5They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land. From Worlds in Collision: Amongst the Israelites themselves there were also numerous casualties, as there had been from the fires and the hurricane of cinders. As to the change in the world's poles and the rising sun, the Hebrew Talmud itself bears witness: "Seven days before the deluge, the Holy One changed the primeval order and the sun rose in the West and set in the East. The Cashinaua, natives of western Brazil, have a tradition echoing the narrative in the Scriptures: The lightnings flashed and then thunders roared terribly and all were afraid. Then the heavens burst and the fragments fell down and killed everything and everybody. Heaven and earth changed places. Nothing that had life was left upon the earth. Researcher Graham Hancock, author of in Fingerprints of the Gods says: Volcanism and earthquakes are also mentioned frequently in association with the flood, particularly in the Americas. The Araucanians of Chile say quite explicitly that ‘the flood was a result of volcanic eruptions accompanied by violent earthquakes’. The Mam Maya of Santiago Chimaltenango in the western highlands of Guatamala retain memories of ‘a flood of burning pitch’ which, they say, was one of the instruments of world destruction. And in the Gran Chaco of Argentina, the Mataco Indians tell of ‘a black cloud that came from the south at the time of the flood and covered the whole sky. Lightning struck and thunder was heard. Yet the drops that fell were not like rain. They were like fire.
The Papyrus Ipuwer states: Gates, columns, and walls are consumed by fire. The sky is in confusion. The fire almost exterminated mankind. Speaking with an old priest while visiting Egypt, the Greek Salon recorded the conversation: "You are all young in your minds which hold no store of old belief based on long tradition, no knowledge hoary with age. The reason is this. There have been, and will be hereafter, many and divers destructions of mankind, the greatest by fire and water, though other lesser ones are due to countless other causes. Thus the story current also in your part of the world, that Phaethon, child of the Sun, once harnessed his father's chariot but could not guide it on his father's course and so burnt up everything on the face of the earth and was himself consumed by the thunderbolt - this legend has the air of a fable; but the truth behind it is a deviation of the bodies that revolve in heaven round the earth and a destruction, occurring at long intervals, of things on earth by a great conflagration... Any great or noble achievement or otherwise exceptional event that has come to pass, either in your parts or here or in any place of which we have tidings, has been written down for ages past in records that are preserved in our temples; whereas with you and other peoples again and again life has only lately been enriched... when once more, after the usual period of years, the torrents from heaven sweep down like a pestilence, leaving only the rude and unlettered among you. And so you start again like children, knowing nothing of what existed in ancient times here or in your own country... your people remember only one deluge, though there were many earlier..." In Politicus, by Plato: At certain periods the universe has its present circular motion, and at other periods it revolves in the reverse direction. There is at that time great destruction of animals in general, and only a small part of the human race survives.
