New Faces and Spaces at Russell Medical

Hi! My name is Kimberly Carter, and I am new to Alexander City. I began working with Russell Medical on April 1 as the manager of physician and business development. In a nutshell, I am responsible for physician recruitment to our area, and I am the project manager for the Benjamin Russell Legacy Project. My husband, Chad, myself and two daughters, Adalyn, 4, and Catherine, 2, are so excited to be putting down roots in Tallapoosa County.

I come from your neighboring county, Chambers County, where I spent almost 10 years in economic development managing industrial, commercial, retail and community development projects.

I am so blessed to have the opportunity to work with the Russell Medical team alongside Mr. Ben and Luanne Russell on this new venture into geriatric and senior living. Since my arrival, we have been designing the Benjamin Russell Center for Advanced Care, which will consist of 32 beds in an assisted living facility and 26 independent–living cottages.

In early fall, construction will begin on the Benjamin Russell Center for Advanced Care. The goal is to serve the senior population better while also bringing new services to the area. The facility will be very eye catching as it sits cantilevered out into the landscape next to The Mill TwoEighty event center along U.S. Route 280. Two stories tall, the Benjamin Russell Center of Advanced Care will be the premier facility for geriatric care in this region.

Shortly after the groundbreaking for Advanced Care, the assisted living facilities will come to life. A 30,000-square-foot building, the Advanced Care Center will house 32 resident rooms and allow seniors the opportunity to live in a resortstyle community. The residents will stay engaged and moving with amenities similar to upscale lodges, premier dining

Medical News experiences, and daily activities. Floor plans for these rooms were designed with financial and accommodation flexibility in mind. The care center will offer rooms that are 330 square feet, 430 square feet and 510 square feet. Last, but certainly not least on the construction timeline, are 26 independent living cottages. The community will have a gated feel with a winding entrance. The houses will sit on natural topo lines surrounded by trees, landscaping and nature. By having four floorplans for the cottages, there will be something to fit all styles and needs. Each cottage will include two bedrooms and two Kimberly Carter bathrooms with covered parking for vehicles. Amenities included in these leases will provide residents with low-maintenance lifestyles and easy healthcare access. Fall 2021 to spring 2022 will be a busy time on the Russell Medical campus, and we ask that all employees and visitors bear with us as we work to expand the services offered. In addition, we will be pre-leasing the senior living facilities prior to construction completion. For those interested in taking advantage of this life-changing opportunity, call me at 256-329-7199. While there will be several changes coming to the Russell Medical campus this year, one thing stays the same, and that is “Being the best because we care!” The Russell Medical team is committed to providing the best care to all patients who visit our facilities and are excited to focus those efforts on our seniors. I look forward to serving you. ~Kimberly F. Carter is the manager of physician relations and business development at Russell Medical.
