Season-Long Events Friday on the Green

From mid-May to September, wind down a busy week on the Town Green at Russell Crossroads with live music, lawn games and time with family and friends. Bring coolers, blanket, chairs, kids and pets on a leash from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. every Friday. Visit www. russellcrossroads.com for the artist lineup.

Alexander City Farmers Market

Every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., June through September, buy local and buy fresh. Farmers set up in the Broad Street Plaza parking lot with locally grown produce and homemade products. Call 256-329-9227 for information.

Yoga on the Green

May through October, bring a mat and a water bottle to the Town Green at 7 a.m. Saturdays for a free outdoor yoga class. This class is great for all fitness levels.

Children’s Harbor Treasures and Thrift Store

Located on state Route 63 just south of Lake Martin Amphitheater, the Children’s Harbor Thrift Store is open Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call 334857-2008.

Strand Sessions

From April to August, Lake

Clean Community Partnership Cleanups

Volunteers in Alexander City and Dadeville are encouraged to participate in community partnership cleanups every month.

In Alexander City, the cleanups are held on the third Saturday of the month. Meet at Ourtown Volunteer Fire Department at 8:30 a.m. to pick up supplies and area assignments and help clean up the roads within Alexander City. For more information, contact John Thompson at 334-399-3289.

In Dadeville, the monthly cleanup is held on the first Saturday of the month, and volunteers can pick up sanitized pickers and bags at 8 a.m. at Dadeville City Hall. There also will be a trash bag drop-off on site. Contact Dianna Porter at 256-750-0075.

September Labor Day Weekend Concert

Dadeville Fall Festival

November Renew Our Rivers

Annual Holiday Open House

Hosted by the Alexander City Chamber of Commerce, local businesses open their doors one Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to showcase the festive decorations and gifts and offer one-ofa-kind sales. Bring the kids to visit with Santa as well. Call 256-234-3461 for more information.

January Polar Plunge

February Russell Forest Run

March Lake Martin Ultra 100

April Boating Basics Course

Once a year, the marine police host a free boating basics course for those interested in obtaining a boating license, which is necessary to operate a vehicle on Lake Martin. Visit dps.alabama.gov for information.

Children’s Harbor Auction

Old 280 Boogie

May RXR Fest

This annual event is a three-day music festival held on the Town Green at Russell Crossroads.

June Tallapoosa River Fest

Jazz Fest

Russell Marine Fourth of July Boat Parade

Celebrate Freedom

Come out to the Benjamin Russell High School lawn for this much anticipated event. There will be live music, food and, of course, fireworks. Bring cash, lawn chairs or a blanket, friends and family but leave the pets at home. This is a family-friendly event.

Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks

One of the Southeast’s largest fireworks shows will light up the sky over Lake Martin with a concert kicking things off at The AMP.

Lions Lake Martin Poker Run
