In a media statement, the grocery store parent company stated it is also offering up to $20 in free groceries as a vaccine incentive. To receive the free grocery offer, customers can get a flu vaccine (free with most insurances) along with their Pfizer or Moderna bivalent vaccine during the same visit to receive a voucher for $20 in free groceries. Food Truck

“We have done a lot of stuff in Montgomery,” Pritchard said. “It gives a chance to do something in our service area.”

SEG is also continuing its availability of Pfizer’s Paxlovid and Merck’s Molnupiravir oral antiviral medications to eligible patients in all Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie pharmacies to be used in the treatment of mild-to-moderate COVID-19 cases.

Eligible patients must have received a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, begin treatment within five days of symptom onset and have a prescription from their doctor or health care provider to qualify to receive the oral treatments.

“It’s both a friendraiser and fundraiser,” Knight said.

Knight said they are even playing on Southern roots and locales for the name of the event.

“We are calling it ‘Cookin’ on the Coosa,’” Knight said. “We are dropping to the ‘G’ to make it a little more Southern.”

The Family Sunshine Center is dedicated to ending family violence, sexual assault and human trafficking through comprehensive services and community-based outreach and prevention education.

The Family Sunshine Center works to foster hope and healing through immediate response, safe haven in crisis, advocacy, counseling and support, so that victims may be empowered to lead safe, violence-free lives. The organization has service sites located in Autauga, Butler, Chilton, Crenshaw, Elmore, Lowndes and Montgomery counties.
