Increase in bednights of foreign tourists Primary markets:
71% of foreign tourists stay in Tallinn for leisure purposes, 18% for business, 3% for attending a conference and 6% for other purposes. 58% of domestic tourists visit for purposes of leisure (45%), 32% for business, 8% for attending conferences and 2% for other purposes.
International air traffic down, but ship traffic increase The number of passengers at Tallinn Airport was 99 341, down 19% compared with the January year before.

The room occupancy rate was 33%, staying 1% lower than in January of the previous year. The average cost of a guest night in an accommodation establishment was 535 kroons, which was by 4 kroons less expensive compared to January 2008.
