Alberton Lions Club had the privilege of inducting 3 new members to the club at their recent meeting, raising the number to a healthy 43, the largest club in the district. This may be attributed to the drive and enthusiasm evident in the club under Lion President Tammy du Plooy, and the volume of service they are to perform in our community with the increase in members. The Alberton Lions Club is active in all of the Lions Club International “Service Pillars”, engaging in projects covering Hunger, Environment, Diabetes, Vision and Paediatric Cancer, as well as a large number of general community projects. The Alberton Lions Club will continue serving the less fortunate in our community, as they have done for the past 49 years. Holding Hands makes a difference in Alberton
Holding Hands is a registered PBO (Public benefit organisation), with a focus on relieving a little of the brokenness and hurt of our community. Their motto, Stronger Together, characterises the heart they have for the community and those that are struggling within it. tame TIMES will be doing a story in the next tame TIMES edition about Holding Hands.
