A NOTE FROM THE
EDITOR Delivered every Tuesday
During these uncertain times, it warms the heart to know that there are still organisations that stand together to ensure that the hungry are fed. Three years ago the Help Forum was established, and today their worth is truly shining through. The Help Forum consists of sixteen organisations, includ-
ing I48 and Tiaan Kotzé, ward 37 councillor, working together, serving families, the elderly and children in need. Various organisations benefit from the Help Forum and their continued work to serve their community. The charitable organisations include Tutela, Alberton Lions, Amcare, Ligstad, Happy Hearts, Alberton Victim Support, Lewensentrum and Doxa Deo, just to name a few. In turn, the organisations distribute the food received to various sources in the whole of Alberton, Thokoza and Edenpark. For the various volunteers, social workers and auxiliary workers, it brings great joy to see the gratitude on the faces of those who benefit from their service. The service provided by the Help Forum has also been met with gratitude by the organisations they support, as it affords them the opportunity to truly help those in need. This reminds us of a quote by Ronald Reagan; “We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.” The forum also received a special donation from Nando’s South Africa. The donation was handed out to the needy, poor and destitute by all the organisations, bringing a smile to the faces of many struggling Albertonians.

Dis Saterdag, of Woensdag, eintlik weet mens nie meer nie. Jy lewe in dwaal van onsekerheid, dis amper agt weke en dit voel soos agt jaar.
This might seem impossible under our current circumstances, but sometimes you just have to switch off and not let your blood pressure spike. Its also important to be OK with the fact that today, you are not OK. It is impossible to just be strong all the time, we are not superhumans.

Former Sundowns star struggling with depression Zane Moosa has been struggling with depression says his brother, as his family rally round the former Bidvest Wits, Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs star. Smiley Moosa, South African soccer legend and older brother to Zane, says his sibling has struggled since his days as a SuperSport pundit came to an end in 2017. Moosa Snr revealed the sad news, saying: “We are having a really tough time with Zane, to be honest with you when he was fired from his job as an analyst at SuperSport and it is still a mystery to me the circumstances surrounding his dismissal.” He added: “He was saying he was asked to shave off his beard, now Zane is a devoted Muslim like most of us and he told them that this is a culture of Muslim people to keep beards. The same thing with (Hashim) Amla, nobody tells Amla to shave his beard you
know. “Slowly but surely Zane was becoming more depressed and it became so bad that we had to admit Zane to a Psychiatric Hospital where he got treatment and improved and it looked like he was on the mend. Unfortunately, Zane was going back to his depressive ways and now he has locked himself up almost completely. “He doesn’t want anybody to see him including his children. If you phone Zane he will not answer his phone, if you go to his house and knock he will not open the door. So we are in a situation here where we don’t know what to do, we don’t know how to handle this because he has received professional treatment. We are not Doctors and we are not Psychologists so we don’t know if we must take him back (to a Psychiatric Hospital) and if he is willing to go back.”
