Joburg South resident nominated for Woman of Stature Awards 2019 ley in 2016. Taneil Shani Arkner, a Woman In Education Nominee from the South of Johannesburg says, “I would like to take the opportunity to thank Women of Stature for the opportunity to participate in this event. It is an honour to be nominated for such a prestigious award and especially for such an empowering cause that is so close to my heart. As a businesswoman and entrepreneur, I am aware that entrepreneurship is the key to saving our country and that the youth of today are our leaders of tomorrow. I truly believe that it is never too early to teach our children the value of dedication, perseverance, empathy and passion and these are the exact values a child learns while achieving their academic goals whilst working with horses at The IEA Elite. It is this same drive and passion that has gone into creating ArkStar Kidz Club, my registered NPO that raises funds

Cheslin Kolbe hailed as one of the world’s best after mesmerising display
By: Siviwe Breakfast
The Boks bagged their second victory of the 2019 Rugby World Cup on Friday, with the Toulouse winger contributing two of the seven tries scored on the night. He opened the scoring in classic Cheslin Kolbe fashion, dancing around the defence to down in the corner, where many players would have been shut down due to a disadvantage in numbers. The try was the first real notable action in what was a solid performance, which saw him emerge as the best player in green for the second time in as many starts. Kolbe deservedly walked away with the man of the match award, and drew due praise from his mentor, Rassie Erasmus after yet another dazzling performance. “He played a wonderful game – both on attack, defence, aerially, he was just fantastic.
Cheslin Kolbe is a player known for his uncanny ability for creating some-
thing out of nothing and, during the Springboks 49-3 thumping of Italy, he
gave a classic demonstration of exactly that.
I think at this stage, he must be one of the players in the world, with players like (New Zealand’s) Sevu Reece, and Damian McKenzie, who just have X factor and do something out of nothing. “It’s wonderful to have him in our team.”
Alberton Football Club supports Boots for Africa
On Saturday, 19 October at the Alberton Football Club prize giving day, AFC will facilitate a Boots for Africa drop-off
zone. Members of the local community are encouraged to donate their old football/
rugby boots to help children in need in poverty-stricken parts of South Africa. Boots for Africa is an organization that collects pre-loved boots and distributes them to children and young adults across South Africa. One of the main goals of this charity is to make sport more accessible to young people in developing communities. Not only can those interested donate their old boots for a worthy cause, but they can also give sports equipment such as shin pads, balls etc. to the youth of South Africa to help build communities and social understanding through the power of the game. By donating your old boots, balls and equipment, you can change a young person’s outlook on life. Through sports, we are helping to nurture, empower and transform lives. AFC encourages all members of the local football and rugby community, especially those attending the annual Prize Giving Day, to take part. Clubs, coaches or individuals who may be interesting in learning more about Boots for Africa and how they can contribute can contact Gavin Hendry on 082 457 0671 or visit their Facebook Page. Drop off your old boots, takkies or school shoes (cleaned, laces tie together in pairs) in the Boots for Africa boxes.
