FREE COVID KITS FROM THE CHILDREN’S BOARD
The Children’s Board of Hillsborough County is distributing 3,500 FREE Covid-19 Prevention Kits at all seven of its Family Resource Centers in Tampa Bay. Each kit includes hand sanitizers, a thermometer, face masks and hand soap. childrensboard.org

TECO MANATEE VIEWING CENTER REOPENS
The TECO Manatee Viewing Center at the Big Bend Power Station in Apollo Beach is finally re-opening this month after staying closed last year due to the pandemic. Manatees gather here in the colder months to seek the warmth of the water from the plant! Water from the bay is used to cool down the power station. The discharge canal is actually a federally designated manatee sanctuary. There is also a trail and observation tower you can climb. All proceeds from books sales will help to fund a student trip to Washington D.C. for the Gentleman’s Quest program that includes visits to Howard University, the National Museum for African American History and Culture and the American Poetry Museum.
