A tip from the Lead Mentor

Build a c0mmunity

To be an effective mentor, you must have an open mind and the capacity to see a situation from another’s perspective. I always try to really see myself in their situation. Really listening and observing body language, whenever possible, is also super important. An individual can voice one thing while their body is saying something completely opposite. So, being receptive to another individual's languages (voice and body) is important. I love helping others. It is in my nature to help someone, especially if I have had similar struggles; If I happen to have similar struggles as someone that I am mentoring. I try my hardest to not make it about me, What I mean is: rather than mirroring what they are saying with my own story, I try to use what I learned from my struggle to guide the other person on their path to a resolution for their struggle.
