DAY 1: HANOI ARRIVAL Upon arrival in Hanoi airport, you will transfer by private coach to our hotel in the center of Hanoi. See the lively Old Quarter and the expansive Dong Xuan Market on a guided walking tour that lasts for around one hour and thirty minutes. The Old Quarter is the home to more than 1000 traditional houses, dating from 1010. The Old Quarter evolved into the commercial hub of Hanoi, and the city’s 36 streets in this area are named after the various crafts and trades practised by its merchants. Exploring the winding, convoluted streets is a fascinating activity.
DAY 2: HANOI – MAI CHAU – XA LINH – HANG KIA (B, L, D) After breakfast, you will depart on an exciting journey that will take you to the stunning Hoa Binh Province, which is situated in the mountainous region to the southeast of Hanoi. It is a region dominated by limestone karst scenery and is populated by Thai, Hmong, Muong and Dao ethnic people. Descend the last 14 km along a steep mountain road into the stunning valley of Mai Chau. The H’mong community of Xa Linh may be reached after a 30-minute drive, and from there, Hang Kia can be reached after a three-hour trek through the jungle. You will spend the night with a local family once you get in Hang Kia, so get settled in! If you’d like, you can take a leisurely walk to the nearby village, which should take around an hour.
DAY 3: HANG KIA – CUN PHEO – BUOC VILLAGE (B, L, D) Following breakfast, you’ll then turn to small dirt trails through the jungle. Most of this morning’s route is going downhill to land of the Thai ethnic minority. Getting closer to Cun Pheo you can see rice fields and typical local house-on-stilts. Arrive in Cun Pheo village, take some rest and walk around the village. Continue your hike along the village road via the rice farms to the village of Van, and then continue on to the village of Buoc, which is a White Thai village that is both modest and picturesque. Spend the night in a home that’s been around for generations.
DAY 4: BUOC VILLAGE – XAM KHOE – HANG VILLAGE (B, L, D) Trek this morning to Xam Khoe village for a quick chat with the locals then following the village trails and rice paddies to Van Mai. Get on the bus and transfer 5km to Co Luong. It is where we will get on the small raft boat that will take us to the opposite bank of the Ma River. Disembark the boat and continue trekking to Sai village then onto Hang Village, an oasis in the middle of Pu Luong Nature reserve. Tonight, stay in the stilt houses at Hang Village. 40

DAY 5: HANG VILLAGE – KHO MUONG (B, L, D) This is a wonderful day of hiking as you trek through the valley with some steep climbs on a more remote route. You are never far from a villager tending fields or early morning market. Arrive in Dong Dien, you have some time to cool down from the midday heat. Continue on to Kho Muong village which nestles between steep limestone mountains. For those with enough energy, there will be a trek to an incredible cave that has only recently been discovered, before resting at our home-stay. Note: This is the remotest village out of all.
DAY 6: KHO MUONG – DON VILLAGE (B) This morning, we got an early start from Kha and hiked for almost three hours in a generally downward direction through a gorgeous bamboo forest. Along the route, we passed various towns and rice terraces. Continue our afternoon 2,5 trek through the bamboo forest. This part of the trek is uphill terrain to Don Village. Arrive in Don village and check in to the hotel. You can relax or join with our guide for a leisure walk to the surrounding villages.
DAY 7: PU LUONG – HANOI (B) Following breakfast, your morning 10km trek will take you through the beautiful countryside and bamboo forest. You will take a loop trek to Pho Doan via Nua village. The off road trek is relatively easy with some gentle descents and our trek ends in Tom Village. Next, transfer to Canh Nang via Ban Cong village, where you will stop for a quick visit to the famous bamboo water wheels. Built by people from the Thai and Muong ethnic groups, the wheels deliver water from low-lying streams to feed the vast rice crops. Depart to Hanoi and enjoy the scenic transfer along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Arrive in Hanoi, check into the hotel and have free time at leisure.
DAY 8: HANOI FREE DAY (B) Today is a free day to discover the delights of Hanoi. For those

On the way back to Hoi An, stop to start the full process of making rice-paper. Head to the Japanese Bridge - the 400-year-old architectural symbol of Hoi An. Don’t forget to ask your tour guide about the surprising myths and legends of the delicately carved wooden statues on the bridge. Next stops are the Tan Ky old house - a Sino - Vietnamese - Japanese merchant house built 200 years ago, Chinese Fujian Temple and the Culture Museum. DAY 5: HOI AN – HUE (B) The next destination is Hue, the Old Royal City in Vietnam in the 17th century. Stop en route to visit the Lang Co beach before reaching Hue city. In the afternoon, head to the tomb of the former emperor Minh Mang located in a tranquil setting of gardens and ponds. Next, journey on to Khai Dinh’s Tomb which has the traditional Vietnamese design fuse with an European touch making it unique

from the other tombs. Before heading back to the hotel, take time to stroll around Dong Ba Market with your guide.
DAY 6: HUE – PHONG NHA – FLIGHT TO HANOI (B) Go to Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park in the morning after a hearty breakfast at the hotel, where you may explore the cave system of Phong Nha by rowboat and on foot. According to the British Cave Research Association, at a total length of 31,4 kilometers, it is the longest dry cave in Asia. Leave for the airport at 4:00 p.m. to catch a flight to Hanoi, where you’ll have the rest of the day and evening on your own.
DAY 7: HANOI CITY TOUR (B) Enjoy a full day experience to some must-see signature cultural sights of Hanoi including Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and former president’s house. Or visit one of the handicraft villages around Hanoi. If you want to learn more about traditional art forms, watching Hanoi puppet shows (self-pay) is the best option we can suggest.
DAY 8: HANOI – HA LONG (B, L, D) Today, head East to Halong Bay - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Board a junk, which is an iconic traditional type of boat in Asia to cruise through the bay with 3000 stunning limestone resembling magnificent creatures. Get lost in the breathtaking scenery or try your hand at something new. A nighttime boat ride is a necessary part of the journey.
DAY 9: HALONG – HANOI (B, BRUNCH) Enjoy your morning coffee as you set off for new bay sights that have been likened to legendary dragons and squabbling roosters. Leave the ship after lunch and return to Hanoi.
DAY 10: HANOI – DEPARTURE (B) Afterwards, check out before 12:00 pm and transfer to Noi Bai Airport for onward flight.
